- Sharps Disposal By Mail System(R) utilized by approximately 70% of the retail clinics across the country HOUSTON, July 30 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Sharps Compliance Corp. (OTC:SCOM) (BULLETIN BOARD: SCOM) ("Sharps"), a leading provider of cost-effective medical waste disposal solutions for industry and consumers, today announced that the Company's flagship product, the Sharps Disposal By Mail System(R), is being utilized by three of the four largest retail health clinic operators in the country to facilitate the effective, efficient and proper disposal of used syringes. The Company has contracts with two of the three customers and sells through a distributor to the third. Currently, there are approximately 450 to 500 non-emergency clinics across the country located in the retail setting, such as pharmacies, grocery store chains and mass merchandisers. According to Drug Store News, a publication following news and trends in the convenient care business, the total number of retail clinics could increase to as many as 2,000 by the end of calendar year 2007 and as many as 10,000 by 2010.
