Citigroup Inc.'s (C) Smith Barney retail brokerage has recruited a team of financial advisors from UBS Wealth Management US, a unit of UBS AG (UBS) that produced more than $1.6 million in commissions and fees over the past year.
On Wednesday, Gary Bronheim and Michael Goldstein joined Smith Barney to work in the company's N.Y. office on Park Ave. The team managed more than $200 million in client assets and will report to E. James Mulcahy, who manages 92 financial advisors.
Bronheim worked at UBS for more than 16 years and at Oppenheimer Holdings Inc. (OPY) for more than four years, according to Financial Industry Regulatory Authority records. Goldstein worked at UBS for more than nine years, according to Finra records.
A UBS spokesman couldn't immediately confirm the team's departure.
