VANCOUVER, March 3 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- SMSActive Technologies Corp. (OTC:SMSE). During the first quarter of 2005 SMSActive sent a project engineer, Lijin (Jimmy) Zhao to China to manage the deployment of its mobile instant messaging product, the SMS T-Bar, in the Chinese market. Commercial testing of the SMS T-Bar was successfully completed in December of 2005. In November 2005 Arshad Shah, President and Chief Executive Officer of SMSActive appointed Mr. Zhao Vice President (Chinese) Operations. Then in December of 2005 Mr. Shah traveled to China to approve Mr. Zhao's implementation plan for focusing the company's marketing efforts on the People's Republic of China. As an integral part of the SMS T-Bar commercial tests, SMSActive began its search for a Chinese partner with significant market share in the wireless market and products which would complement the SMS T-Bar. This search has resulted in our current negotiations with a Chinese VoIP company and our plans to open an SMSActive office in Beijing, China in the second quarter of 2006. Mr. Shah is currently in China completing negotiations with our prospective Chinese partner and supervising the startup of SMSActive's participation in the fast growing and exciting broadband telephone (VoIP) market. In China, it is estimated that by 2007 VoIP calls will amount to 210.11 billion minutes with revenues of RMB 52.53 billion yuan. Low cost is the direct reason that has produced the rapid development of distant IP call.
