JPS Industries, Inc. Changes Name of JPS Glass Division GREENVILLE, S.C., June 17 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- JPS Industries, Inc. (Pink Sheets: JPST) announced today that it has changed the name of its JPS Glass division to JPS Composite Materials Corp. JPS Glass was the sole operating entity of JPS Industries' wholly owned subsidiary JPS Converter and Industrial Corp. The new JPS Composite Materials Corp. name replaces both prior names. Gary Wallace, President of JPS Composite Materials Corp., stated, "The JPS Glass name has served us well and we are proud of our many accomplishments. While that name once described our mission well, our company and our markets continue to evolve. JPS Composite Materials Corp. more accurately reflects who we have become and better indicates our commitment to continue to make the process and product changes necessary to meet the new and diverse technical demands of today's and tomorrow's market place." Michael L. Fulbright, Chairman, President and Chief Executive Officer of JPS Industries, Inc., stated, "When we recast JPS Industries several years ago, we determined that JPS Glass would be a key component in our strategy to build a Company focused on serving specialty industrial markets. Their commitment to customer satisfaction, quality products, technical innovation, and ability to adapt to market forces and changes is captured very well in their new nameplate. Today we see even more potential for the second half of this decade with JPS Composite Materials than was the case at the beginning of 2000 with JPS Glass." JPS Industries, Inc. is a major U.S. manufacturer of extruded urethanes, polypropylenes and mechanically formed glass substrates for specialty industrial applications. JPS specialty industrial products are used in a wide range of applications, including: printed electronic circuit boards; advanced composite materials; aerospace components; filtration and insulation products; surf boards; construction substrates; high performance glass laminates for security and transportation applications; plasma display screens; athletic shoes; commercial and institutional roofing; reservoir covers; and medical, automotive and industrial components. Headquartered in Greenville, South Carolina, the Company operates manufacturing locations in Slater, South Carolina; Westfield, North Carolina; and Easthampton, Massachusetts. CONTACT: Charles R.
