SANTA MONICA, Calif., March 7 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- INNOCOM Technology Holdings, Inc. (OTC:INCM) (BULLETIN BOARD: INCM) has entered into a memorandum of understanding with Seoul-based Industry Community Online Service Co., Ltd ("ICOLS") to set up a joint venture in China to promote ICOLS' advanced 3D mobile interoperability system to the large China marketplace. ICOLS is traded on the KOSDAQ Stock Exchange of Korea as 065810. Through the joint venture, INNOCOM and ICOLS are seeking to allow content such as games, MP3 players, television, GPS and other in-demand applications to be easily operated on any mobile device embedded with the partnership's technology.
ICOLS is the controlling company of Sinjisoft, well known in South Korea as a pioneering wireless mobile Internet platform & software developer. Sinjisoft is also traded on the KOSDAQ under the symbol 078700. The goal of the partnership is to capture a first-to-market advantage in the emerging Chinese 3G wireless marketplace. China has the largest market in the world, with 443 million mobile phone subscribers, well ahead of the 202 million phone users in the U.S. The Chinese market has only experienced a 30% penetration rate, leaving significant room for growth.
Mr. William Hui, Chairman and CEO of INNOCOM said, "This cooperation will allow INNOCOM to incorporate the advanced 3D mobile contents platform (GNEX) of ICOLS into our in-house mobile phone development. It is a strong value-added feature set which will distinguish our products from other less-sophisticated competitors in the upcoming 3G arena. In addition, this cooperation opens up the possibility for INNOCOM to enter into the profitable business of managing and distributing software-based services and solutions, also known as ASP, for mobile phone game content."
Seung-hun Lee, CEO of ICOLS, added, "China's immense growth potential and the booming wireless Internet market, which is not yet standardized, could bring fabulous service to the mobile users in China through Sinjisoft's outstanding software technique and the advanced IT infrastructure of INNOCOM."
