CHICAGO, June 15 /PRNewswire/ -- The Valspar Corporation (NYSE:VAL) announced that its new ZENITH(R) G-1Solvent-based Self-seal Topcoat has received GREENGUARD(R) certification by meeting the GREENGUARD Environmental Institute's air quality standard for low emitting products. G-1, a solvent-based topcoat that has very low amounts of hazardous air pollutants (HAP), is being introduced by Valspar at the National Exposition of Contract Furnishings (NeoCon), held Monday, June 15 through Wednesday, June 17 at Chicago's Merchandise Mart. G-1 is designed to be "dropped-in" to existing production lines without the need for new equipment or inconvenient adaptations to existing processes. One reason the G-1 formulation gained GREENGUARD indoor air quality certification is because it contains very low amounts of formaldehyde. Valspar's ZENITH line of wood finishing products, with improved environmental performance, is designed to help companies meet their individual environmental demands. As more distributors, furniture manufacturers, original equipment manufacturers (OEMs) and builders adopt green initiatives, the ZENITH family of products helps them meet environmental requirements without sacrificing beauty or affordability.
