Comtech Group Adds Dr. Q.Y. Ma as an Independent Member to Its
Board of Directors
SHENZHEN, China, Dec. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Comtech Group, Inc.
(OTC:COGO.OB) (BULLETIN BOARD: COGO.OB) , a leading module design solutions
provider in China focused on the mobile handset and telecom equipment
industries, announced today that Dr. Q.Y. Ma will join the Board of Directors
of Comtech Group, as an independent director.
Dr. Ma is the Managing Partner of Time Innovation Ventures (TIV), a venture
capital firm focused on funding technology start-ups and joint ventures in
China.
He has over 18 years of R&D experience with several technology companies in
North America. In Asia, Dr. Ma co-founded Semiconductor Manufacturing
International Corp. (SMIC), China's first IC foundry, currently trading on the
HKSE and NYSE exchanges. Other investments of his in the electronics, telecom,
and media sectors include Comlent, AIC, Mediachip, CSI, TiMed, and XKX.
In addition, Dr. Ma has been an Associate Professor at Columbia University,
Harvard University Medical School and Hong Kong University. He has published
over 160 papers and has obtained 7 patents. Dr. Ma is a recipient of the U.S.
National Science Foundation Career Award.

Beijing and Zhangjiang Microelectronics Park in Shanghai.

Dr. Ma received his Ph.D. from Columbia University, and is a graduate of
Stanford Executive Program (SEP) of Stanford Business School.
Comtech's Board of Directors currently consists of seven members, five of whom
are independent. Dr. Ma has replaced Bin Li, who has resigned.
