AngloGold Ashanti Ltd. (AU), Africa's largest gold producer, Friday said it and Randgold Resources Ltd. (GOLD) now jointly control Moto Goldmines Ltd. (MGL.T).
MAIN FACTS:
- Further to an announcement Aug. 5, a plan of arrangement for a business combination between Moto and Randgold has become effective
- AngloGold has fully funded a payment to former Moto shareholders under a cash election of about $76.9 million and has paid about $171 million to Randgold
- Remaining existing liabilities of Moto will be settled in due course through the Moto joint venture between Randgold and AngloGold.
