QS99 - Ive seen people lose their shirt on the strength of an IC tip. One I remember was Mayflower. They went under within a space of 6 months of their tip. No apology.

Xar does have the benefit of a lot of cash, a 3D printing business that has attracted a suitor, and a printhead business that individual markets require a need. Thoroughly beaten down business virtually brought to its knees by a wacky, overpaid american throwing money at an ill-fated project within this business!

Think the IC ST article was interesting: the cash, plus 3D stake are IMO the value, the rest just needs to stop losing money and share price will follow IMO!. Taken a small stake on the back of that...DYOR

nobilis can you explain how you went from "got to be a bid coming" to "rumours of a rumoured bid at 78p" in the space of 6 minutes?

Nobilis has done the same on the NMC BB today. A rumoured bid of £14 there as well. He needs to be careful with this fiction

Do you have a source?

The volume is highly irregular. That might suggest something more than ordinary demand for the stock. No comment on a bid - no idea. Just following in the large buying, demand for stock on the bid and chart pattern.

Longed a few for a short term trade. It's just like SCS this one, buyers are crawling all over it - very well bid.

Does anyone know how much business Xaar does in China? Will they be warning soon?

Well Thompson’s bounce did not last, so the headless chickens running this company have resumed controlled, I wish some other concern would see some value here, and give shareholders a dignified exit, currently the morons are clinging on to their salaries at the expense of shareholders, the typically vague statement recently did little to alleviate this miserable company!

Wonder whether it makes sense for their 3d partner to buy xaar and then sell off the bits they don't want. Might be cheaper way of taking control of xaar 3d?

I wonder if Russ Mould asked him to tip it.

All about the printheads, they say they have restructured the business, but to what extent and whether they have any visibility, the losses for this year might be much higher if you include intangibles been written down, trading wise it is all about the work they done to make the remainder of the business viable!

Any hidden balance sheet value is disappearing fast through annual losses

so it's a bet on whether or not the company can stop the rot before those shareholder funds are wiped out

is that speculation or investment ?

Cash, and the potential of the 3D option, one has to assume that core printheads business still has a market, just that they blew every dime of cash flow pursuing the thin film development. We’ll see, but the figures will be ugly as a result of writedowns, but maybe the resurrection will be testament to the future.
