Any reason for the steep drop today?

Nothing wrong with buy and hold for certain stocks... Probably not to clever to apply the strategy to cyclical business's though.

It's a very good point and a lesson for all of us. I don't think buy & hold is viable anymore for any share. Trailing stop loss is so important it's saved me from a lot of pain.

What a pile of shxx investment this has been, why oh why didn’t I take my profits at 13 quid. I was 11k up. Declining business model and ruined for the last few years by sorrel using it as a piggy bank and ego boost. Wpp is like most of the shxxe on the ftse 350 and aim and brexit basket case U.K. in general , uninvestable. Just hope someone comes in at 9 quid a share for a takeover to asset strip it. Worth more in bits. I need to just stick to investing in the s and p and dax and Asia. U.K. investments never fail to disappoint.

Just in time for the FED to obliterate the green back with inflation.

Imagine the opportunities for advertisers and marketeers after the virus problem eases.

Cruise liners will convince you that you will only be safe from pandemics when on board their new, sanitised, clean air conditioned ships.
All presented by a stunning super model in a nurses uniform wearing a mask and little else.

Pubs and restaurants similar, by the time the advertisers have finished brainwashing us we will be too scared to go back into our own homes.
Airlines also.

WPP will be busy building up demand after this lot is over.

Difficult to do anything other than use traditional yardsticks when looking at WPP at the moment ie recession = trouble. This morning's announcement was interesting in that I was less impressed with what it said than the way it was put together. Its style came over to me in very military terms and in the current situation that gets a tick from me.

Ridiculous overreaction IMO, dividend is still well covered by FCF and restructuring is still in progress. You don't turn around the largest advertising company in the world in a few quarters.

Just bought 250 shares, let's see..

15% down today.
what a disaster.

A decent revenue but with so much accounting trickery everyone is worried about this new strategy.
Not a simple business, a shambles really, impossible to value.

No choice but to hold after this collapse.

Not sure that I understand the violent downswing in the share price here. The latest accounts are not easy to follow but annual revenue was up but then hit by a raft of various adjustments and write downs. Both cash flow and the balance sheet look stronger to me and the dividend has been maintained. Looks to me what it probably is: the cost of a large reorganisation. Outlook is flat but I'm not looking in the direction of the lifeboats as yet!

Stop being so angry all the time... It's not good for your health!
