12/5/2017 18:42 | +7.2% YTD Loads of ex-divs this week not accounted for in my performance, LLOY and DLG will pay next week. | invisage
12/5/2017 17:18 | Crikey, my estimate was half of one percent out. Well done! Videan portfolio on the ropes...may need to go even more extreme next week! | nasdaqpat
12/5/2017 17:12 | Best week of year by far.I'm at +3.29%If AMFW had not fallen in the afternoon, I might have overtaken you! AZN reclaimed top spot in my portfolio from RDSB | gateside
12/5/2017 17:02 | The calendar year performance table is shown below :- FTSE250~~~~~+10.21%~ Invisage~~~~+07.20%~ FTSE AS~~~~~+06.27%~~(387 FTSE100~~~~~+05.33%~ Videans~~~~~+03.39%~ Gateside~~~~+03.29%~ Added substantially to XUKS during the week and cashed some VUKE & L100 so much so that now only 57% more FTSE100 Long Trackers than Short. Re-bought 3 companies during the week (BT.A, CBG & GKN) so our portfolio now consists of 31 companies. Overall stock level has risen to 69.9% (albeit 16.3% is represented by XUKS) from 66.2% at the start of the week. | nasdaqpat
12/5/2017 16:48 | Didn't know Invisage had AZN as well. It figures - as he has the Midas touch this year! | gateside
12/5/2017 16:41 | Wow, 7435 is the highest close for FTSE, just a few points of the intraday high of 7447. AZN rules OK & so does Gateside & Invisage! | nasdaqpat
12/5/2017 16:24 | Just sold out of GSKVery happy with AZN today. | invisage
12/5/2017 16:09 | Just wondering whether to buy back a few WG. | essentialinvestor
12/5/2017 16:08 | What's up with AMFW this afternoon? | gateside
12/5/2017 16:07 | Wonder if there might be another bid coming for AZN? | gateside
12/5/2017 12:40 | Yes, I re-bought some BT.A yesterday, EI. Prefer it to VOD which seems to have too much debt and various question marks about it. | nasdaqpat
12/5/2017 12:19 | If you like conta plays then BT.A must be a prime candidate atm. This is looking a little like HSBA did, briefly last year. Dire sentiment can always get even worse, however expectations now look very low indeed. | essentialinvestor
12/5/2017 11:43 | Re-bought initial tranche of GKN (we were without an Engineer) so up to 31 companies. Also, added to XUKS earlier so stock level has ballooned to 71.3% (of which 16.3% is on the short side). | nasdaqpat
12/5/2017 11:14 | So it is! Your alpha rating for the week looks like being maintained then Gateside. FTSE getting ever closer to the 7447 ath, so far @ the earlier 7409 it has put on 04.40% in 15 days and that's alongside a moribund DOW. | nasdaqpat
12/5/2017 10:48 | AZN flying today. | gateside
12/5/2017 00:30 | RIO Update:- Iron Ore closed @ $60.30mt yesterday, down (02.00%) from Wednesday's $61.53mt. Copper traded @ $2.500LB yesterday, up 00.40% from Wednesday's level of $2.490LB. RIO's share price closed 00.40% firmer on 11 May (2978p:2990p) but earlier posted an intraday high of 3046.5p. RIO, by my methods, has therefore registered an (Phantom) Up wave with the current intraday low of 2882.5p on 5 May forming the base for a 05.69% advance (thus far) to 3046.5p. I am still hoping for c07.00% equating to a short-term target of c3084p before reducing our holding (in anticipation of lower S/T lows) which is currently averaging 3257.7p. | nasdaqpat
12/5/2017 00:10 | WPP Update:- WPP's share price improved 00.35% on 11 May (1699p:1705p)...it is, so far, up 01.67% on the week (1677p:1705p) so currently better than market perform against the FTSE100 as a whole. The current intraday low remains 1651p on 28 Apr but whether that level will form the base for the next (Phantom) Up wave is unclear. If it does, I fancy the share price will improve c8.5% leading to c1791p before it resumes its alleged downward trajectory with c1446p the ultimate corrective target. If c1791p is reached short-term then I will probably reduce (our average is currently 1656.87p including costs). | nasdaqpat
11/5/2017 22:52 | Even though my performance is ahead of most indices I'm of the view I would have done even better simply by holding onto existing positions longer than I did....there are certain stocks I sold that have done rather well since. Very hard to win them all.I'm still of the view trying to time the market is more costly than being in the market. I should have held more small caps as there are people out there with high double digit returns.I hope I'm smart enough to hold a decent sized cash position after the next crash as I believe after a crash I will make considerable sum of money in the eventual bull market. | invisage
11/5/2017 17:44 | BT below £3, did not see that. Quite incredible how sentiment can change so significantly, not too long ago everyone loved it. | essentialinvestor
11/5/2017 17:01 | Probably outperformed today, as 3 largest holdings all comfortably beat the Market. Hoping I can hold onto these gains tomorrow. | gateside
11/5/2017 16:53 | Our 30 company portfolio was Down (00.14%) today. Cashed some VUKE but re-bought a slice of both BT.A & CBG. Overall stock level increased to 68.2% (14.3% of that on the short side). | nasdaqpat
11/5/2017 16:43 | I fancy CBG could put in at least 1 more Up wave (its only had 3 since 975p on 7 Jul 2016) from today's low of 1623p (assuming the market doesn't enter its correction proper)...my guess would be c12% initially leading to c1817.75p. | nasdaqpat
11/5/2017 16:22 | What target are you looking for, for CBG? | gateside |
