Isn't the strength of the $USD going to have had more of a positive impact than they are willing to admit in the statement?

Anyone Short here does not have any contacts in the House Building Industry
imv.

The Industry, at least in the UK, is beginning to recover and that recovery
has gained traction over the last couple of weeks.

For me Jacko they are trying to avoid adding to the debt.
They are in serious trouble however.

JoJO_Jo - amazing! A three bagger??? That would give it a market capitalisation of £12 billion and expected annual profits of £1.2 billion per year - is that what you are seriously expecting? Personally I can see it being a three bagger but in the reverse direction ie a reduction in share price to 400p. The company still has £1 billion of debt and at least £2 billion of worthless 'intangibles' on the balance sheet. But good luck to you.

Personally I think the trading statement (when it finally arrives?) will be positive. It was looking promising last time, and with the reduction in the workforce (apols. to employees), things should be looking even better this time. They'll also confirm US disposal, effectively eliminating their debt. They will be very well positioned for recovery - a lot better than most others in the construction/building sector. They also have the benefit of generating revenue from building repairs, upgrades and DIY.
Whilst there may have been dilution, the cash raised was used to pay down debt, which just changes the debt to equity. A much 'safer' situation altogether.
I'm a buyer, for the long term, at any price up to £14, and consider this to be a "3 Bagger" over the next two or three years.
Just my opinion. DYOR.
Jo.

This company looks to be in serious trouble, I wonder if they will survive this recession ?

Kibes,

very good point.

My experience also that a new CEO will get all the 'dirty washing' out in the first year.

I have always felt that in time , this share price could fall as low as £8.

Err? Where's the trading statement? The CFO takes a walk with a pat on the
back for diluting a billion quid into the balance sheet and doesn't bother to
inform the shareholders about how the company actually fared as a result of his capable work. Caretaker management by definition.

mallorca9 - the trouble with obvious shorts is they can obstinately refuse to go down, take a look at Carpetright (CPR) which everyone is shorting and most have lost their shirts already including Evil Knievel. I think it is caused by spivkid traders at 'investment' banks who have unlimited amounts of other people's money to play around with and like to have a bit of fun ripping small shorters off by playing games with the order book. They're probably working in league with the spreadbet companies who open most of the short positions for punters.

Kibes its a great short ! The naked trader also has it as a short.
Short it again when it hits £14.60.

Initial target £12.

Can anyone explain how this can possibly be worth 1450p? £1 billion of debts and no profits yet the company has a market capitalisation of £4 billion??? Are people expecting a rush to buy plumbing products this year? If so why I wonder?
