19/2/2009 12:31 | what are the chances of the share price going up any time soon as the stochastic is showing it is oversold, any opinions? | jon182
19/2/2009 00:24 | RI admittedly can be considered a positive as is the case with Hammerson but in WOS case the money is needed for survival and its share price should fall rather than rise imo. | mozza0508
18/2/2009 22:02 | TPK results tom. That should move the share price | huwrayhenry
18/2/2009 21:39 | Rights issue aside, much depends on which way the general market goes. As for rights issues, they don't always mean a drop in the share price Look at Xstrata. After the announcement there was an initial fall but now the share price is higher than it was before the announcement. | aquilla
17/2/2009 17:00 | opened a short 2 weeks ago at about current level but got stopped out with its recent rise. Am tempted to short again in view of the inevitable rights issue but how low will share price dive if this does happen anyone care to opine? | mozza0508

03/2/2009 23:09 | today's US housing figures better than expected & suspect some bounce due in the dow. macd looks like could turn up from way down had a good run so closed short - for now | gurp
02/2/2009 20:47 | a conrtrarian view from some good people Liberum Capital issued a 'buy' stance for shares in plumbers merchant Wolseley (WOS), saying exchange rates at the end of January were more favourable than at the end of December, which should flatter the balance sheet published for its first half. The broker now expects net debt during the half-year stage to be around 2.7-2.75 billion pounds depending on the working capital movement in January, which would be a meaningful fall from the 3 billion pound mark at the end of December. "Assuming that exchange rates persist until the end of its year, we now expect July year end debt of 2.32 billion pounds, against 2.45 billion pounds previously, which brings the expected net debt/EBITDA down from 3.86 times to 3.65 times, which is still the wrong side of the 3.5 times covenant limit, but our estimates imply that the company would only need 100 million pounds disposals to meet its covenants," it commented. Wolseley shares fell 11.4p to 161.3p. | cerrito

30/1/2009 09:30 | Quite a bounce this morning, added a few more to my short. | royaloak
29/1/2009 21:14 | scburbs, at least investors can sell their rights so it's not all bad news if they do a rights issue. Strange performances by XTA and CKSN today after announcing their rights issue, the eventual market price suggested they had done the right thing. However there could be many companies doing the same so WOS will need to get in early. I have been shorting WOS and reopened a position again today. | royaloak
29/1/2009 19:16 | id guess arights issue at 76p is needed | westcoastrich
29/1/2009 14:59 | I don't agree with Koetser on bankruptcy, but it doesn't look great for WOS's rights issue in terms of dilution for shareholders without cash. Today Xstrata announced a 2 for 1 rights issue at a discount of 66% to the prevailing price and Cookson annouced a 12 (yes 12) for 1 at a discount of 88% to the prevailing price. Any investors who don't have the cash to take up their rights are going to be massively diluted. | scburbs
29/1/2009 14:00 | Biffus2, I shorted this on their last announcement. They will need to do a rights issue as their debt has jumped and profits/revenue collapsed. I would be looking at massive dilution or bankrupcy for this company - no way they can get out of this one .... | koetser
29/1/2009 13:26 | might have a short on these looks like its going down | biffus2
27/1/2009 16:21 | They have zero value. Can not believe that they will be able to pay off their debts. Debt value has jumped while their revenue and profits get hammered. | koetser
27/1/2009 15:27 | Staying short Why would anyone buy these shares ? | dataline |
