The holding was within my normal risk tolerances, some you win as they say, I did well on SBT so it balances out sometimes!
My arb holdings are only part of the portfolio, most is long term small cap and some Indexing shorter term holdings, all of which will be gone by the close this Friday to help those nice trackers buy the units they want!

The MDM deal was not subject to Take Over Panel rules as the companies are incorporated overseas so it is easier for the acquirer to walk away, which they did leaving me sitting on a 50k loss!!

So are you refering to a specific part of the code? Was BLVN an exception?

Hi Praipus re post 1823, those deals under the code very rarely fall through or are reduced in price, the buyer has plenty of cash and no industrial conflicts so should go ahead no problem. I have a position for the Arb.
Non code deals do blow up as my horrid purchase of MDM at 162 reminds me often!!
