I was in a shop earlier and I saw 6 without masks .I rest my case .Koji Wada, a professor of public health at the International University of Health and Welfare in Tokyo, said he thought "the infection scale in Japan is under control compared to the US or Europe"."One reason is wearing a mask has taken hold among Japanese people," the adjunct member of the Government's initial coronavirus research panel said."If there were 100 people on a Tokyo train, only one person or less would not be wearing a mask and everyone follows."I think wearing a mask in everyday lives is very effective in preventing the spread - it's where people aren't wearing masks that the virus is spreading."

The interesting thing is I have written a lot on these boards and I have not come across one single post saying the Govt has done a good job .They either want no restrictions or its not restrictive enough .This middle way is hopeless .We must look at Asia how to handle this, South Korea Taiwan,Vietnam and learn something.

Don't you think in some countries the mass panic to get to railway stations tonight would have been stopped .There is very little compliance to rules and we are all paying for it .

Chickens home to roost Maybe you should have cared about this then .The total number of NHS hospital beds in England, including general and acute, mental illness, learning disability, maternity and day-only beds, has more than halved over the past 30 years, from around 299,000 in 1987/88 to 141,000 in 2018/9, while the number of patients treated has increased significantly. Most other advanced health care systems have also reduced bed numbers in recent years. However, the UK has fewer acute beds relative to its population than many comparable health systems.

Then get someone running things that keeps a lid on it .Wales had 10 critical care beds left 2 days ago .No other choice now .Fact .Unless you want mass deaths at home no oxygen or hospital beds .hTTps://www.lbc.co.uk/news/welsh-wales-hospitals-near-full-capacity-just-10-critical-care-beds-left/

This time next year we will be in tier 10. Half the country unemployed, millions homeless as cant pay their rent or mortgage, only retail still going is supermarkets, chemists run out of anti depressants...?

COVID-19: Tier 4 restrictions could put thousands of jobs at risk, retail sector warns

The British Retail Consortium says the consequences of the new measures will be "severe" and calls for more government help.

I have told you before 95 percent of these boards are full of the same political nOnsense .Im one of the 5 percent lol. Arfur iggins the same opinion .Oh well COMMENT FROM SLOVAKIA:Slovakia heading into its 3rd total lockdown. Everything will be closed, Christmas is canceled, and people are to stay at home at least until mid-January. The (insane & criminal) PM said the end of lockdown will depend on the "situation", and lockdown is to only end once it's "safe" for kids to go to school. (So, I guess by the summer...LOL.)Note that Slovaks have been forced to get tested several times since October, in three rounds of nationwide testing. The testing was basically mandatory because those without a negative test certificate were not allowed to leave home, go into shops, work, or even go for a walk. The "excuse" for the periodic testing was... to avoid a new lockdown. Also, from January all medium and large firms must periodically test every employee for "covid"!Those who lived under Mao or Stalin were better off... I knew this was coming – that we'd soon come to envy them – but didn't know it would come this fast.PCONCLUSION:Is it any wonder why everything is just going so nuts? We have even the Dow making a wild outside reversal on a yearly basis. That is rare in the very least. Indeed, there was far more freedom even under Communist China and Russia. The West has gone completely mad in this desperate attempt to get to ZERO CO2, which will never happen. And, ZERO CO2 would kill all plant life since they dropped out of school and skipped science class.

I get your point about the aunt but its still a fact many people are being hospitalised with this and the Nhs can't cope .Thats the bottom line .I dont need the telly a mates friend died of it on his sofa , they needed the hospital beds for someone they could help .It wasn't a nice way to go I can assure you. Most of us are lucky and we don't react to it like that .Have a good evening im visiting mum .I keep away from people atm lol .
