24/9/2009 22:55 | no need to apologise i was'nt offended i may be tempted to get back in myself if they drop abit but i reckon they are a good long term bet as more oil and gas is found in deeper waters. One of the main problems is not the price of oil as the company was going great before the oil price spike but its the fact banks are not borrowing money to the oil companies to get on with their projects which has a serious knock on effect for us. | whatsaprofit
24/9/2009 22:48 | hey , sorry to sound so glib Am from North Yorkshire , so know there aint too many opportunities I sold all mine over last two weeks , so from that point of view would hope they retrace anyway , selfishly , for a while , for me to buy back when the dust settles. Good luck mate | mr.oz
24/9/2009 22:35 | I would not like to give an opinion either way but i hope that they at least stay at current levels as i am in the company share save scheme and i get my shares in july after 3 years and we get them for £3.38. I sold out today as i may need the money if there is any redundancies .I bought all mine for under £3.40 and doubled my money so cannot complain. I had just over 2000 and that will pay my mortgage for a long time if i lose my job. | whatsaprofit
24/9/2009 22:27 | so you mean buy on the dip :) | mr.oz
24/9/2009 22:10 | no problem mr.oz but i have heard more than one person say that we are bidding for 2 or 3 sizable projects but even if we do get them this does not necesserily mean that they are to start straight away ,if we are fortunate to win any of them it could be months before we start making them. | whatsaprofit
24/9/2009 21:16 | thanks for the candid information whatsaprofit, not good in the short term, but long term it probably is a sensible approach ( not that it helps the human condition ) I have just been thro the same with UPM Kymmene , and now we are back-tracking decisions made because we are too busy and lacking capacity and under-skilled. So the biggest thing to suffer is morale in the end for some | mr.oz

24/9/2009 19:03 | mr.oz went in on wednesday to be told that the shift workers on the 4 shifts will possibly be put on day shift from december onwards due to lack of work in newcastle plant(this is to save on the 40% shift allowance). This is due to all petrobras work being made in the brazillian plant. As this equates to a wage reduction of one third there is a hell of alot of people wondering how they will pay their mortgages, so general mood is not happy. We have been told in meetings with the management that they expect things to pick up in the second half of 2010,and we are all praying they do. | whatsaprofit
24/9/2009 17:52 | what's general mood like "whatsa" ... ? How busy are you guys and what's the word on how larger oilfield finds are going to impact you TIA | mr.oz
24/9/2009 15:38 | hmmmmm oil down a chuunk. | choppa
24/9/2009 12:28 | I have been reading this forum for a short time and i can confirm ceckyspunts information in 2068 of 2077 is 100% as i was in the meeting when this was relayed to wellstream employees. The information cecky gave was basically word for word for what we were told. | whatsaprofit
22/9/2009 16:35 | all info greatfully rec'd. ;-) | pinkkasti
22/9/2009 13:49 | all we can rely on is official RNS news after it has happened! | ceckyspunt
22/9/2009 13:44 | regarding my post of yesterday... i did not speak to a member of the board, just an employee, and she said they had all been briefed about the current situation. my personal view is that a takeover is still very possible even though an official bid has not been forthcoming. the company does not need to deny something that has not happened yet... also, i posted a year ago or so that i had heard rumours (from a friend in paris who is friends with the wife of an exec of a large european energy company) that mr chapman had agreed to sell his shares in the company but that he has not actually sold any at this point... so presumably the potential bidder is attempting to lobby support and find enough shares to support any bid... | ceckyspunt
22/9/2009 13:27 | Just sold out 1500 (total holding 2000) at £6.97p. This may continue to rise however without any further rumours, this may be be back to around £6 in no time.We have waited ages for it reach that level anyway. Too risky to short however, will start milking in again from £6.20p or less. | cwavecrest |
