RNS Number:4014K Wellcome Trust Finance plc 20 December 2007 The Wellcome Trust announces that its Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ended 30 September 2007 have been approved. The investment base of the Wellcome Trust Group grew to £15.7 billion at 30 September 2007, compared with £13.9 billion at 30 September 2006. The figure of £15.7 billion includes the proceeds of the £550 million bond issue in July 2006. The net assets of the Group grew to £14.4 billion at 30 September 2007, compared with £12.7 billion at 30 September 2006. The overall investment return was 17.0% during the financial year (2006: 12.8%). Charitable commitments of the Group totalled £520 million during the year, compared with £484 million for the previous year. Charitable cash payments during the year totalled £492 million, compared with £489 million for the previous year. Wellcome Trust Finance plc also announces that its Annual Report and Financial Statements for the year ended 30 September 2007 have been approved. At 30 September 2007, its total assets were £682 million (2006: £682 million), with net assets of £137.5 million (2006: £137.5 million). The 2007 Annual Reports and Financial Statements of the Wellcome Trust and Wellcome Trust Finance plc will be available in mid January from the Trust's web site www.wellcome.ac.uk.
