11/11/2016 10:56 | 24000 tonnes -- ; | leedskier
11/11/2016 10:48 | 24 million tonnes???? I think their costs are higher also? but the movement in copper is lovely and time to fill yer boots. This is how I see it Weatherly have endured with help from a very supportive lender in Orion and I guess this is because they believe in Tscudi and its quality. The company has experienced bad luck in Q3 with water issues which have now been dealt with through more investment. The upsurge in the price of copper could be transformwtional. In the last two financial years Weatherly's Revenue has increased from £38M to £63M and if copper stays at its present level and Weatherly deliver on anticipated production rates we will have a company producing 17k tonnes of copper cathode/annum Copper for forward delivery in December is close on $6K/tonne and costs are presently $4.2K. Weatherly should now be well in surplus $1800X 17000. That is a gross Profit of $30M (approx £24M) Of course we Orions loan to service. Still not bad for a company with a C/V of £14M!!!!! Weatherly also have the capability of increasing production to 20k tonnes through an investment of $1.2M but have refrained from doing this as the price of copper has not induced them to do so but I reckon through some forward selling soon they probably could now? | billthebank

11/11/2016 09:00 | These are rounded ball park figures ... research gets the precise numbers. When working at full chat, WTI produces some 24 million tonnes of copper a year at $4000 a tonne cost. It has borrowings which it has to repay. Borrowing aside, it can be seen that with copper currently above $5500 a tonne, its gross margin rather over shadows its market capital. It is the equivalent of a small cap gold producer suddenly discovering that the price of gold is now $2000 an OZ, or a small cap oil producer discovering that Brent is now $100 a barrel. | leedskier
11/11/2016 08:58 | The Double bottom targets a minimum of 1.4 The share price has been coiling in a Falling Wedge since beginning of 2013, hence the powerful move. The Falling Wedge targets 6 The orange line is the very long term overhead trendline. This line picks up on the ath back in 2001, and several other peaks, concluding at the apex with the long term lower trendline on approx. Monday November 14th. | bamboo2
11/11/2016 08:55 | Why is copper going up...well the markets have realised that Trump isn't as bad as first thought so Asia and other copper users need more material. Suprise suprise up goes the price | petersmith6

11/11/2016 08:43 | LSE bb:Ok so we have the company saving debt which got us through the hard times of $88mil. Interest payable on that is around 9.3% on average. So $8,184,000 which is £6.5mil pa. Profits made over the year if we can get production to the expected 17,000 and costs down between 4100-200 are as follows. Current copper price is 5810 so.... 5810-4150 (costs) = 1660 profit per ton. 17000 (tonnes prod pa) x 1660=$28,220,000 which converted in to GBP is £22.5mil.Profit minus the debt repayment = £22.5mil - £6.5mil = £16mil pa.Going on a very conservative profit to mcap ratio of 3x profit per year to get to mcap value that equals a value of £48mil. The current share price is £10mil which makes this a potential 4.5bagger even now!Talk of getting production up to 20,000 tonnes per year and costs as low as $3800 but for now we can go with what we expect short term. 10/11/2016 17:30 | ....copper futures has seen its biggest rally in history with December Comex copper futures last trading at $2.555 a pound. ....Gero added that copper is rallying on growing economic optimism as investors and traders focus on president-elect Donald Trump’s proposal to send more than $500 billion rebuilding the nation’s infrastructure. (and WTI market cap is still under 10mil GBP). | cougar99
10/11/2016 16:36 | > belief that Trump will make good his promise to spend a lot of $$$ on infrastructure. So you could say now that WTI is a copper bottomed investment now :-) This board still surprisingly quiet given the rise today - but that is 'good' news. | cougar99
10/11/2016 15:11 | Well I did say it would move to 0.8 quick, now though I'll leave you all to it gla check out TAP great results yesterday all imho dyor | csmwssk12hu
10/11/2016 12:49 | There is an article posted today on Bloomberg explaining why different commodities are rising post the US election. Special emphasis is given to copper. It is noted that it has its best rise for three years and the explanation given is the belief that Trump will make good his promise to spend a lot of $$$ on infrastructure. | leedskier
10/11/2016 12:25 | The good point about that is it keeps Orion inside the tent and supporting WTI. WTI is a highly leveraged play on the price of copper. It looks as if it is starting to come good. | dropside
10/11/2016 10:24 | your point being? | leedskier
10/11/2016 10:21 | it caps the sale price of half of prodn until june next year | longsight
