moreforus, thanks for that and dont forget in that business update they
issued before the half year results they said the following ( it appears
they are ahead of schedule .

Business Update - 17th September

"The implementation of MRI’s Coal Briquetting project is progressing well and first production is anticipated by February 2013. The pilot briquetting plant will be moved to site in the next few weeks in order to commence production of sample batches for final off-take evaluation and specification. This information is required under the existing off-take agreement to enable potential consumers to evaluate the product. By implementing the pilot plant ahead of the main production facility, MRI will be in a position to assess market requirements and make final adjustments to the process before entering into full production."

have you ever seen anyone so bitter and angry they bash this stock every single day.....

i agree with him - it is illiquid but in the past it was to the sell side ...now its to the buy side... there are the indicators experienced traders and investors look for when want to buy a stock... this has been proven by the real limits here and people struggling to get buy orders filled

It's an illiquid share and is difficult to buy and sell at times . . . lots of punters have found this out when they have been caught on the numerous spikes on the way down from 0.4p . . .

Having "sold" its main asset WET is now an "investment" company . . . so ignoring the one off profit from the "sale" of WUC to MRI the underlying loss from continuing operations for WET at the half year is £113k . . . so the full year loss from continuing operations will be in the region of £226k . . . they have cash and shares in MRI . . . as was pointed out on here MRI is basically a quasi listing for WET on a sub-standard version of AIM on the South African stock exchange . . . WET received cash and shares from MRI for WUC . . . WET then lent back some of the cash to MRI . . . South African investors are supposed to understand MRI better than us Brits according to some on here . . . however TAM failed to place 75% of the shares by the planned date . . . but apparently that's now good news for WET as they may get more MRI shares . . . according to some on here WET may lend MRI even more of their cash pile . . . so WET is an "investment" company with a single significant investment in MRI . . . MRI losses are "forecast" to be c £338k in 2013 and they are "forecast" to make a profit of £577k in 2014 . . . but MRI don't have an operational or viable coal briquetting business ATM as they are still in the pilot stage and first production is only "anticipated" to be in February 2013 according to the RNS . . . MRI may have some potential with AMD and/or the coal briquetting project but the AMD saga has been ongoing for years and the recent tensions in South Africa highlight the risk of doing business there . . . so WET is now a loss making "investment" company with a significant share in MRI which is currently a loss making company whose shares are very illiquid and traded on a very lightly regulated South African stock exchange . . . IMHO any intelligent and reasonable poster can see the risks here and hence why Mr Market is currently applying a significant discount to WET of more than 50% of the NAV . . .

asixe i have found the text i mentioned earlier for coal production timelines
that MRI gave in their Abridged listing particulars to the JSE.

Its about 3/4 way down the page under the title PROFIT FORECAST ASSUMPTIONS
and also there are loads of figures there too. Also consider that this may
be running ahead of schedule now ( as per september business update )

"Production is forecast to commence nine months after 1 March 2012. The first month of operations is forecast to run at 20% of the Average Production, the
second month at 50% of the Average Production. Average Production is forecast
to be achieved during February 2013. "

minecap thanks for that i will try and locate it

A few interesting snippets in that article today :

"Watermark released their half yearly results on the 28th of September 2012 which showed that the company restructure has already positioned them into a strong position. Highlights of the interims showed profit after tax for the six month period ended 30 June 2012 was £2,716,000 and earnings of 0.17p per share .This profit is inclusive of the gain made in the sale of WUC to MRI for £2,751,000.

Stated net asset value at 30 June 2012 was 0.33p per share and cash position of the Company at 30 June 2012 was approximately £796,000. Since the listing of MRI the value of watermarks investment has risen by over 50% ( as of 10/10/2012 ) equating to a NAV of 0.41p per share."

"To date WUC are the only company to submit a full long term plan to deal with Acid mine drainage to the south african government, who are coming under increasing pressure from the United Nations and World health organisation to deal with AMD."

"Fines supply and briquette off-take agreements have been established and signed between WUC and the coal mining operation that controls the mine in Vryheid, where the fines for the initial contract are situated. A pilot project is currently underway with full commercial scale operations expected to be rolled out through december 2012 and the early months of 2013, although initially this clean coal fuel will be sold into the south african market the wider goal is to market the product into several overseas markets over time."

asixe in reference to the coal there is a document they issued that stated
they will commence end of september at around 20% capacity mainly to make
samples for clients and get the quality control right, then move to 50% in
december and then early 2013 move to full 100% production.

Cant remember if its on watermarks or MRI website but someone posted it
on a forum recently.
