05/5/2006 14:39 | Mad1066 has less than 4 weeks for his "£1 in May" target to be achieved. There are only 17 full trading days left till the deadline, so it'll need to go down by an average of nearly 1.5p (over 1%) per trading day between now and then to reach it. Mad, are you still sticking to your forecast? ;-) | samg99
05/5/2006 14:20 | Jaypea, they've been discussed already further up the thread, but here's their web site FYI: Question - can anyone confirm SVG and Strategic Equity's holdings are independent as I assume they are, although the two funds are related? If so they now own over 19% of WMK between them. | rivaldo
05/5/2006 14:03 | Well, well..anyone know Stategic Equity Capital then? I see the latest RNS says a 9.15% stake....has a PE bidder become visible? cheers jaypea | jaypea
28/4/2006 16:23 | SP seems to be looking up nicely over the last few days - certainly seems to be good institutional interest. | spaceparallax
28/4/2006 16:17 | AXA have top-sliced a touch, but the price is up this afternoon. Perhaps some bid news after the holiday weekend? | rivaldo
27/4/2006 12:55 | Looks like SVG just got a bit of cash, wonder if they'll put it into WMK Flotation of EEMS SVG Capital has been advised by Permira that EEMS has listed on the Italian Stock Exchange with trading in its shares commencing today. Shares have been placed at 8.20 per share, capitalising the company at 337 million. Funds advised by Permira have sold approximately 22% of their shareholding in the company at the flotation. The value of this partial realisation for SVG Capital is approximately £5.1 million. Following the flotation, the IFRS value of SVG Capital's remaining holding in EEMS is £18.8 million. This, together with the value of the partial realisation, represents an uplift of £11.6 million (7.9 p per share - fully diluted) to the December 2005 valuation of £12.3 million. Funds advised by Permira are subject to a 180 day lock-up period in relation to their holding in EEMS. EEMS performs assembly and test services for DRAM and Flash memory chip manufactures. It also assembles memory modules, which are used in PCs, telecoms and the automotive industry. | cbgb

27/4/2006 10:39 | Can I add to my repeated comments regarding food etc `on board`, I heared a radio ad yesterday from a major airline (cant recall who) that they offer all their passangers free food, drink and newspaper onboard, BA`S new lower cost flights to Europe will retain free food drinks and newspaper, I flew BMI to Nice last year, Food drinks and paper offered onboard, I flew Swissair to GVA 3 weeks ago, free food drinks and Paper, Flying 1st choice airways to ACE soon, food drinks and paper.---Do I need to go on. | simon14
27/4/2006 09:50 | Don't know 'em, made, but the chart's worse than WMK's! Good luck, anyway. | njp

26/4/2006 13:38 | yes the air line sector is heading for a big down turn i know i work of air france at heathrow still i will sell my house this year and go back to newzealand | made1686
25/4/2006 13:44 | I'm more in your camp, riv. Opportunities for a well-run operator and sentiment already grim for the sector so how much worse can it get. Any weakness ought to be short term IMO. | njp
25/4/2006 12:54 | Riv & space , you both validate my point. The markets perseption of the industry is damaged, but so too is Alpha`s image, still WMK appears to be in better shape than for some time, Its about time I put this years ISA allocation in WMK. | simon14
25/4/2006 12:37 | Riv, I suspect it's a bit of both; the industry may suffer a reputation blow that could make edgy investors withdraw, there again as you say it could be desperate clients that need the WMK service. | spaceparallax
25/4/2006 12:29 | Er, surely the fact that Alpha is in trouble is GREAT news for WMK?! This is a major competitor with problems which look entirely company-specific, and which have already lost contracts to Air Fayre in the past. I'd say it's Alpha that will lose confidence from its customers and WMK which might well benefit. | rivaldo
25/4/2006 12:03 | CBGB, This is not a particular surprise,I have in the past criticed Alpha for their constant mistakes, this is very unfortunate and is not good news for us also, anything that casts doubt on the validity of this industries prospects cant be good, but at least im not invested in that bag of S#it. | simon14
25/4/2006 10:26 | Looks like Alpha Airports in trouble: ALPHA AIRPORTS GROUP PLC (the 'Company') The Board of the Company has today requested a temporary suspension in the listing of its shares, following receipt of a notification last night from the Company's auditors, PricewaterhouseCoope statement of preliminary results for the year ended 31 January 2006 which were announced on 30 March 2006. The withdrawal of that approval is in connection with enquiries by the auditors into a series of related transactions connected with a major contract awarded to the Company during the financial year. The Company is now urgently seeking to clarify the position with its auditors. The publication of the audited accounts of the Company for the year ended 31 January 2006 and the Company's Annual General Meeting will now be delayed. A further announcement will be made as appropriate. | cbgb
24/4/2006 14:40 | Yep. Either way it seems the share price should only go one way from here, be it via a bid or from recognition of the fundamentals and worldwide growth possibilities. Charles Stanley point out that a multiple of 9 would give a 161p price target. Hardly demanding. | rivaldo |
