08/3/2006 00:46 | I too have had communication from Crispin Quail (fd) but not regarding any specific financial detail, all I can say is it looks like he really cares about the prosperity of WMK and appears attentive to any suggestions that may come his way. But lets not all bombard these chaps with our concerns they have a job to do. Btw, the bit about new contracts is very interesting, it is I am convinced key wiping out this illogical banter that we here so often. | simon14
07/3/2006 22:58 | Yeah right Gotterdammerung..... Thx NJP, simon14. FYI I also talked to the FD today - he confirmed that there would be a Notice of Results RNS out soon, and results would be out at the end of March as they always are. He also confirmed that details of any new contracts etc would be contained within the results statement. I again got the impression that everything was calm - I put to him that if anything was wrong WMK would have to have announced, and that since they hadn't announced my assumption was that everything was on track. He agreed that my thinking was correct, i.e that anything awry from expectations would have to be signalled in an RNS. Given that we're now in mid-March I'm therefore confident that all is well. The large post year-end investment from two institutions/funds is the clincher imo. | rivaldo
07/3/2006 22:40 | Severe complications ahead I am lead to believe :-( | gotterdammerung
07/3/2006 22:14 | Rivaldo Thanks for that. I note they're also invested in ELM. | njp
07/3/2006 17:56 | Rivaldo, Thanks, this is what Bulletin Boards are about, worthwhile opinion not easily available to the masses.Well done. | simon14
07/3/2006 15:56 | Another classic post :o)) This is more interesting - I hadn't realised Strategic Equity were quoted (EPIC - SEC). This is from their recent interims and shows the thinking behind their large investment in WMK: "Watermark is a catering and 'in-cabin' product supplier to the airline industry. We believe there are a number of growth opportunities within this sector, largely driven by the increase in the number of passengers travelling and the need for the airlines to reduce costs and outsource the supply of their products and services. Recent events within the sector have raised additional interest and we believe that Watermark is well placed to capitalise on opportunities which are arising as a result." At 115p WMK is now on a historic consensus P/E of 9.1 and a forward P/E of 8.4! | rivaldo
07/3/2006 15:24 | so am i but will buy in may at a pound you will see did i not tell you of high oil price ss margins are tight | made1686
06/3/2006 23:00 | Welsheagle, I suppose your talking IFRS for eps growth 6.84%, I would expect headline to come in a lot higher than that. And im not surprised the TO has grown, they bought a lot of that in. And just in case you wonder, I AM a bull on these shares. | simon14
05/3/2006 23:42 | It looks good welsheagle, most companies don't have anything like those fundamentals. Either it has been a bad 6 months or we are vastly undervalued here. I hold and I'm with the latter. We'll find out soon enough | crusader rich
05/3/2006 17:02 | Latest figures from February's 'Company Refs', when price was 122p:- a/ Prospective PE ratio of 9.76 (based on three broker forecasts, one recommending 'buy', one recommending 'add', and one recommending 'hold'). b/ Dividend yield of 2.05%. c/ Forecast growth in eps of 6.84%. d/ Net asset value of 93.0p. e/ Cash flow per share of 10.0p. f/ Turnover up from £28.1m to £77.6m in last five years. g/ Price to sales ratio of 0.58. | welsheagle
04/3/2006 13:22 | Weemonkey, answer to your post of 28th is I reckon , people have other things to invest in at moment, there are unsubstantiated worries over the companys short term prospects, whipped up by blinkered press comment, the company has changed rapidly over the last few years and investors want clarification that the plan is going to work and noone wants to try to find the bottom in the shares. So after the results they will have cleared most of these concerns and we can move on. I dont blame the merchants of doom on this thread , investing is serious stuff(though to some it doesnt appear so) and if theyre uncomfortable with WMK then thats ok, but all companys have their price and with such exiting ( but as yet unrealised)prospects I think WMK is good walue . | simon14
01/3/2006 10:28 | Horray! at last, 3 relevent,honest appraisals of WMK. | simon14
28/2/2006 18:06 | I have been in and out of WMK and hold some at the moment. The problem with the share price seems to be that there are so many things to worry about, competition, fuel prices, bird flu etc etc. We'll just have to be patient, buy on the downs and wait for the results to put the price up. | handybe
28/2/2006 13:54 | This is the type of news that gives some value to Calcutt's vision. I am sure WMK is already at work to make the most of the growth in flights from India and China to the UK. If you just think in terms of oil price and airlines that struggle with it you may miss the bigger picture. WMK is in a growth area. So if earnings are clipped a bit the growth may be ample compensation. V | vassily
28/2/2006 12:57 | Wee M, I don't really know. I recently bought after tracking the share price downwards and it continued to fall before stabilisinmg around the current level. Most recent official news seems very positive, hence no suggestion of bad news there. My guess at the share price fall would be a Market assumption that WMK are of the same ilk as other airline services who had pretty negative press over recent months and possibly also that escalating fuel costs would seriously squeeze the industry that they serve. Whilst I can understand this assumption, it is probably erroneous because of the carefully selected niche occupied by WMK. I continue to assume that no negative RNSs imply no reversal of prospects since the most recent Company announcements; were this to be proved wrong, WMK might be seen as withholding pertinent info and that would have damaging long term consequences. I don't feel that they are that type of 'fly by night' (excuse pun) operator. | spaceparallax
25/2/2006 15:55 | just made 28% on sco and 20% on tsp buy at end of may when shares are cheap | made1686
24/2/2006 22:51 | CBGB, Re my post 14.Feb Optemistic ? yes , why else would I own the shares and yes you are entirely right that to make money in the market you have to own shares that eveyone wants but not at inflated prices when everyone who wants some has some. I prefer to buy shares that are overlooked because of, lack of interest, fear, unrela As always good luck everyone. | simon14
24/2/2006 14:21 | I always thought we were supposed to sell in May and.... | spaceparallax
24/2/2006 11:57 | Yes, yes - I've made a killing on LDC recently with much more to come, but I don't go on about it here as it's irrelevant. Well done made1686, but come back in May if you've got nothing of interest to say :o)) | rivaldo
24/2/2006 11:47 | yes and i have made a kill,,ing on tsp in a week bought at 10.25 up now 12.60 this money may be used to buy wmk in may at a pound see you then as a bull well i do go on about it up 23% in a week and 200% to go in five weeks | made1686
23/2/2006 17:56 | Would be nice. Today, I had a difficult decision to make between ALT, MHP and WMK - the risk rating favoured WMK, but I feel that (despite my confidence in the share) we may trickle down a little further. ALT great prospects, but on a bit of a high and due a little retracement; so, it was MHP that got the money - despite looking a bit shaky, the SP's so low, PE outrageously low and with great potential for mutliple rerating. Next time my money will flow here - let's hope it's before the rest of the Market awakens. | spaceparallax |
