                        Disposal of Amey Vectra Limited



Amey plc announces that the Company has completed the disposal of Amey Vectra
Limited ("Vectra") to Volvere plc for a consideration of #2 million which was
paid in cash on completion. Amey has an option to purchase 5 per cent. of the
equity in Vectra for approximately #115,000 for three years.


Amey's intention to dispose of Vectra, which provides specialist technical and
business consulting and environmental services principally to the nuclear, oil
and gas, defence and transportation sectors, was announced at the time of the
interim results in September as part of the Company's strategic review.


As a result of the disposal, Amey is more able to focus its management resources
on its core activities.
