XPP's up 7% today.

I think it's worth comparing VLX's chart against TSLA's chart. VLX seems to be following that far too closely over the past 2-3 years.

It seems VLX's share price needs to get its own life and break away from pegging TSLA's.

Anybody got any idea when Downing are done? Uncertainty is the last thing any share price needs.

We need a good TU pronto to get the share price back on track.

Frustrating we are down here, after the share price tried so many times to break out above 320p.

XPP still struggling with destocking and they are not calling the bottom yet in todays TU. Explains price action here IMO, as well as the fund seller of course. I continue to average down with a long term view.

Agree. Data centres will expand and proliferate as power hungry AI moves forward apace. Sweet spot for vlx

Fall could be due to TESLA quarterly numbers drop. This is the advantage of many irons in the fire. Progress elsewhere may well exceed this shortfall

After globally consuming an estimated 460 terawatt-hours (TWh) in 2022, data centres' total electricity consumption could reach more than 1 000 TWh in 2026, according to the IEA, citing that the demand is roughly equivalent to the electricity consumption of Japan.

Made a first purchase in my ISA today. Watched these for a while and happy to make a first investment at this level. They look to be in a very good mkt which can only grow substantially. there is lots of competition but these guys seem to have top quality product that sells across multiple high growth potential sectors.

Good read across for the EV market from Luceco results today. And we know data centres are going extremely well with AI accelerating demand.

Almost every year, the share price sags through the quiet period and then gets a rocket from solid numbers at the April results. We've twice experienced a trough to peak gain of approx 40% around the April numbers. This year looks like it could be the same set-up. EV is experiencing some global weakness for sure, but data centres and historic acquisitions have the potential to deliver good news. We shall see.

The US coming out with aggressive EV targets should be good long term for these guys. Short term weakness could be a decent buying opportunity

Year End accounting rules are pretty tight these days (not a lot of flexibility of what can be recognised and what not). We just had our audit a few weeks ago. This is completely not a concern.

The great thing about VLX that Nat has spent years building is the diversification. This should help buffer any temporary shortfall in performance of a particular division. It is a solid business model and together with the local supply chains minimising international issues the company is now far more resilient. It also has the new acquisition to contribute into these results.I remain a buyer.

Correct but too simplistic. VLX year end is 31 March so a few weeks to go. You can manage your shape at year end by recognising costs (or not) and booking revenues (or not) so management sit down and decide how they want the yearend shape to look versus 2024 initial outlook. IR will get involved, LTIPs will be looked at etc. its certainly priced for a warning or a cautious outlook statement. A few on here have flagged peers results and also volex talked about destocking so the stock price makes sense until we get clarity IMO. I will certainly double down on any short term headwinds that cause a price correction.

If there was a profit warning Volex would have to announce to the market as soon as they knew, no?

Interesting comment by Vox moderator that the market is factoring a profit warning but Volex has been tight lipped about it......Thoughts?
