RNS Number:3909T Vividas Group plc 30 April 2008 VDS VIVIDAS GROUP PLC ("Vividas") Agrees trial with International Cricket Council Vividas, the video streaming company, is delighted to announce that it has agreed a commercial trial with the International Cricket Council ("ICC") for a new pay-per-view portal to stream cricket footage over the internet to viewers worldwide. The ICC trial follows a number of contract agreements in the sports sector, including Fox Soccer in the USA and Rip Curl Pty. Ltd. in Australia. The unlimited scalability of Vividas' Live http streaming technology is well suited to major sporting events. The technology provides full screen, high quality viewing and ensures that the stream is unaffected by the number of users, in contrast with traditional streaming technologies. The ICC's product will be an ICC-branded, pay-per-view video portal linked to its website using Vividas streaming technology and the new VivStream(TM) Video Platform. Cricket supporters will be able to view highlights of their favourite teams in action in major tournaments including high-definition footage of last year's ICC World Twenty20 in South Africa, which was watched on television by some 1.4 billion viewers. The trial will be offered to the general public from 14th May to 31st July. A 60-minute highlights package will cost between US$2 and US$4, depending on the region. Paul Neville, CEO of Vividas, commented, "This commercial trial comes on the back of our contracts with Fox Soccer in the US and our recent, successful live surfing event with Rip Curl in Australia. Cricket is an increasingly popular sport worldwide, with a huge fan base in America as well as India and Pakistan. Our high quality, scalable solution is ideal for ensuring that supporters, in both emerging cricket nations as well as established Test nations, can access great cricket matches wherever and whenever they want." ICC General Manager - Commercial, Campbell Jamieson, said, "Vividas was chosen because its streaming technology can deliver video content via the internet in previously unachievable quality - without the need for downloads or firewall issues - to PCs and Macs." "This is about making our library of events more accessible to people, particularly those who live in regions where cricket does not receive much coverage on television. We want to get closer to fans so that viewers will be able to watch cricket whenever they like, especially where broadcasters in their countries might not show it live often."
