It will be shown as receivable whatever happened, as the results show the position on the 31st December.

They couldn't publish results until this deal had been done, otherwise they would have to make allowances for bad debts / exceptionals in the accounts.

Late or not late? I can see both sides here.
By normal standards, publishing results in May for year ending December is considered late.
But, VLTY published last year's accounts on 16 May. So you could argue that they are not late if they publish this year's in the next few days.

Anyway, bought a small position earlier today, against my principle of not taking a stake if results are due imminently.

I sold yesterday - company may be making good progress but that is no excuse for releasing results late. And still not out.

I guess all will be well but it was a risk I decided was not worth taking.

Maybe nothing in this, but usual practice is to announce results at the same time as an acquisition made recently.
So if the results are due "by end of May", next few days , then why didn't they wait a few more days and announce both together?

Yes it was a debt that the mkt was worried wouldn't be paid backPlus World Cup and bet 90 this is a stock to own

I think they need to prove it all in the results. We are due finals for last year any day and we need to see a good set of interim results for H1 2018.

It may or may not be a good acquisition, I have no idea. However, my reading is that they have swapped what might be a bad debt to them of £4m for all the associated
Equity. Obviously far better than not being paid £4m

Excellent acquisition & great to see they've had a strong start to the year, with the World Cup just around the corner.

Muted response so far, but expect these to move significantly higher in the months ahead.

Disappointing as thought would be around 80p Bet 90 doing v well and great acquisition Still think this should have 3 figs this year as such a strong growth company in the right sector
