30/9/2019 21:00 | Marange is a huge area about 100 miles long 50 miles wide - it's an alluvial diamond field - the delta of an ancient river which eroded diamonds directly from the kimberlitic pipes millions of years ago. the diamonds are spread widely and are in "hot spots" - no one is mining Marange currently (as far as I am aware) apart from maybe ZCDC and VAST could be the first to restart independent operations early next year if it goes to plan. The truth of the matter is in the "hay day" they ripped off the top layer of illuvials and left the alluvials and conglomerates and there is still plenty of value in the old fields. I believe VAST's concession has not been previously mined and protected by the local chiefs for exactly this opportunity (i.e. to benefit directly from mining operations) - the fields are largely unmined apart from a few artisinals. | fairlight
30/9/2019 20:55 | Good for Botswana Diamonds to then . Anything outside Marange it's 50/50 | demonboy

30/9/2019 20:30 | That 800 billion is unbelievable , when magabe was in power Diamonds Ming were exhausted and looted , that figure don't know how they got it. There must have been far more of value back in the hay days when Mining was at its peak. Why not carry on mining why did De Beers and others leave, because there was nothing left, it's only a small concession for VAST compared to other contracted companies . Anjin has a larger stake. | demonboy
30/9/2019 20:23 | Whilst I think VAST is a great company and has been my top investment for over 5 years I should like to point out the figure of $800bn is the estimated value for the whole of Marange - our concession is probably only 5-10% so only a few $bn - tough hey! | fairlight

Soon Bought some (SAGA) mid 40’s, expecting a 25%+ return this quarter, my broker told me to buy into these unfashionable plays. | ny boy
30/9/2019 19:49 | #VAST RESOURCES ???The value of Marange's reserves are pegged at US$800 billion, labelled by a survey report from De Beers as more than eight times higher than average diamond fields at a ratio of more than 1000 carats per hundred tonnes (CPHT).hTTps://www.p | tidy 2

30/9/2019 16:59 | While Botswana Diamonds gets a measly percentage which is not bad from 800 billion. Just like Maibwe prospect, if and when that gets sorted. | demonboy

30/9/2019 16:57 | Maybe that's why everyone has their own area to mine when Big Alrosa gets a chunky 70 percent of all ZCDC explores, and Alrosa has already identified drill ready areas. | demonboy
