SUB-DISTRIBUTION DEAL FOR WORLDWIDE RIGHTS OF FIROZ NADIADWALA'S
"WELCOME" TO THE INDIAN FILM COMPANY
UTV Motion Pictures Plc (AIM: UTVM) today announces a sub-distribution deal for
the sale of the worldwide distribution rights of the film "Welcome" to The
Indian Film Company (AIM: IFC).
"Welcome", a light-hearted comedy due for release in the Christmas period, is
written and to be directed by Anees Bazmee and follows his last film "No Entry"
released in 2005, which achieved worldwide gross ticket sales of INR850 million
(approximately #10.8 million)
"Welcome" is to be produced by Firoz Nadiadwala's Base Industries and boasts an
all-star cast led by Akshay Kumar and co-starring Feroz Khan, Katrina Kaif, Anil
Kapoor, Paresh Rawal, Nana Patekar and Mallika Sherawat. The music for the film
will be composed by Himesh Reshamiya and Anand Raj Anand with lyrics created by
Javed Akhtar.
Siddharth Roy Kapur, Director of UTV Motion Pictures commented, "This agreement
with The Indian Film Company results in an attractive return on our investment
in "Welcome" and is in line with our strategy for optimising risk. It will also
release funds which we will use to continue the expansion of our core movie
production activities."

have acquired this title and believe it has the potential to deliver strong
returns at the box office. This acquisition is in line with our stated objective
