25/10/2009 15:17 | kooba, What seems a high price to offer for FVX was necessary since the ore body was palpably undervalued. Whoever offered finance to open it up had to pay. I am not party to the details of the management adopted through the acquisition of FVX. But that has certainly been a factor and one central character has accepted UME paper with a severe lock in on the stock. This must be construed as bullish for UME - and, by impication, FVX. 25/10/2009 15:10 | SC.i appreciate your thoughts and can see the rational medium/long term myself.unfortunately the fvx shareholders seem happy to bail from what was a underfunded play clinging on to a potentially sizeable asset and this will likely keep ugy under pressure short term [with the arb] especially if there is a dead cat bounce in the $ leaving gold to test around $1020 break level for support.will be a great opportunity if we see mid/high twenties. info not to hand..are fvx people joining the board at executive level..they seem quite bright on the deal they have done here? | kooba
25/10/2009 14:58 | ahhh how sweet :) pmsl | dandl
25/10/2009 14:34 | perhaps mr fowler would like to enlighten all shareholders of the commercial and industrial logic of the deal not just a chosen few as the shares have underperformed since its announcement there are obviously many who do not agree with the logic under the current management. | kooba
25/10/2009 14:28 | adam, My guess is that UME is not yet trusted sufficiently to compel its fans to bet the house on completion of the bid. And FVX has come up a lot on the bid and is therefore bound to attract sellers. But I reckon that a buy of FVX is a slam dunk at this level. I have been through the figures with David Fowler and the commercial and industrial logic is compelling and, most important of all, already agreed to by the controlling interests at FVX. 25/10/2009 12:20 | FWIW my brother and I also have been buying FVX, some 1m between us. So who is selling, and why? Do they know something we don't? | adam
24/10/2009 19:29 | they gonna need a V large space in the museum for ya :-) | dandl
24/10/2009 19:17 | cfro, As regards individual mines I have no strong view - although I think UGY is as described above - ridiculously cheap. But I am very long of physical gold. Simon | simon cawkwell
24/10/2009 18:38 | Simon Cawkwell - Nice to hear from you again. I hold UGY for a leveraged play on Gold. May i take this opportunity to ask of your current thinking on Gold and Gold stocks ?.........Jim Slater seems to like them at the moment. Many thanx. | cfro
24/10/2009 18:29 | Gentlemen, I have bought about 600,000 FVX at around 21 cents. The discount to UME is entirely ridiculous. Simon Cawkwell | simon cawkwell
23/10/2009 22:05 | there is no overhang simply the realisation dawning that you can sell UGY or UME and get in about 30% cheaper by buying FVX | robson1974
23/10/2009 08:25 | Looks like we seem to have an overhang here ... Or a large seller in the back ground ? Can buy upto 25,000 on-line at sig discount to offer price. Can only sell 7.5k at bid price. | nilip
21/10/2009 13:56 | I suggest you take a look at AAAM before its too late, the directors have just bought £350k worth of shares! the company also has £10m cash in the bank and valued at only £38m. The directors know something thats for sure and with only a few shares around they could double in a flash! The last time i sough a director buy like that was in GKP before the discoveries sorry o/t guys | mrmiyagi
21/10/2009 13:10 | i think its the peter beardsley a bit ugly but very good | edwardsj
20/10/2009 13:45 | well get off then, 35p, take it!! | themoneymonster2
19/10/2009 15:07 | i think its not a very good chart and although it got to the low 40s it was absolutely impossible to sell more than very few at that price....still impossible at this price.. these small gold mining shares are lets face it ...damn illiquid at the moment despite their good run | currypata kai
19/10/2009 11:36 | its a reving up for take off sort of chart | malcolmmm
19/10/2009 10:21 | It's a weird looking chart isn't it? Does it have a name, a spiky bottom, or an inverted helmet or such? | thx1138
