01/5/2018 13:11 | An MOU is only a piece of paper until there is one or more projects behind it. At the moment you are only backing potential. Enormous potential but still only potential. | nlmbidc

01/5/2018 08:49 | "The identified and assessed prospects and leads within the block suggests that the study area may contain a total undiscovered in-place resource of up to one billion barrel of oil equivalent (JX Nippon, 2015). | euclid5
01/5/2018 08:47 | Another good report for any technical people out there to read: Exploration history and petroleum systems of the onshore Baram Delta, northern Sarawak, Malaysia Page 25 The lowstand delta play, the lowstand turbidite play, the topset highstand delta shoreface play in the MiriAsam Paya Anticline area and the moundform stratigraphic play in the southern limb of the Badas Syncline are among the identified untested plays. The identified and assessed prospects and leads within the block suggests that the study area may contain a total undiscovered in-place resource of up to one billion barrel of oil equivalent (JX Nippon, 2015). In addition to above, the Miri Field presents a significant near field exploration opportunity with deeper untested fault compartments. The gas-condensate with some 120 m of hydrocarbon column discovered by Miri No. 604 deserves further appraisal. A development plan for Adong Kecil West is still outstanding. In case of future improving crude oil prices, more enticing exploration terms and additional 3D seismic data, we foresee a new revival of oil and gas exploration activities in the onshore Baram Delta area. | euclid5
01/5/2018 08:41 | Euclid5 great post and reminder to us all that we are in a good place.UPL is not a one trick pony and I can see multiple verticals to monetise from. | stark industries
01/5/2018 08:34 | State-backed Petronas is starting 2013 on a high note, with new oil and gas discoveries made onshore Sarawak. The company confirmed in a statement emailed to Rigzone Friday, stating that it has found oil and gas in the Adong Kecil West-1 well in the onshore block SK333, after a lapse of 24 years. The last onshore discovery was the Asam Paya Field in 1989, also in Sarawak. The well, drilled by JX Nippon Oil & Gas Exploration to a depth of 10,400 feet (3,170 meters), encountered approximately 1,145 feet (349 meters) of net hydrocarbon thickness. Two drill-stem tests achieved flow rates of 440 barrels of crude oil per day and 11.5 million standard cubic feet of gas per day. JX Nippon, the operator of SK333, is at present conducting technical assessments to determine the resource volume of the field. Based on the drilling results, there are also indications that the deeper sections of in the onshore area could hold additional upside potential for hydrocarbon accumulation. Drilling operations are however more challenging for the deeper reservoirs and rigs with higher specifications will be required to test such intervals. To-date, three discoveries have been found onshore Sarawak: the Miri, Asam Paya and Adong Kecil West fields. "These discoveries prove that onshore Sarawak has the potential for more oil and gas accumulations where the Miri field, Malaysia's first oil field, was discovered way back in 1910," Petronas said in a statement. | euclid5
01/5/2018 08:27 | another good report worth reading below: | euclid5
01/5/2018 08:17 | Hi Zengas, Take a look at table 2 & 3 from the report below, it shows the East & West malaysia oil & gas field discoveries & the status. Plenty in the To Do status Prefer UPl get onshore oil field as it will be cheaper than developing an offshore well Table 5 is also interesting too! 01/5/2018 08:07 | ArgyleYes agree with your 100 Mcap Slowly but surely the value will out as it always does :) | stark industries
01/5/2018 08:04 | Argyle agreed. The MOU is a real game changer and is prompting the re-rate. The government have chosen UPL as their preferred partner to work with Brook to exploit their O&G assets. Just think about that. The partnership has the full backing and was at the behest of the Chief Minister. I think that alone as Argyle states is worth a huge amount. Add onto that Euclid's links yesterday which basically in laymans English stated that the Basin is awash with oil...literally. | thejaba |
