hoping it will be Sarawak we hear on soon, I believe it's the most advanced of options, if indeed the "others" aren't just red herrings. I'd hazard a guess we're looking onshore only, hence the region could be Miri up in the north near the border with Brunei. All just educated guesswork, could be anywhere of course.

Just took a small stake now Wressle is out of the way (for the time being) and looking forward to the following:-

"Upland has been progressing a number of opportunities, both in the UK and overseas, and is pleased to report that good progress has been made. I look forward to updating shareholders in the near future."

not sure wressle really matters as UPL have NO liability of any costs if rejected, they walk away.

Main thing is Malaysian assets not UK onshore.

It's no slam dunk this afternoon, as the planning department recommended approval last time too. However, I believe the previous decision was announced by RNS same day, so we'll know by close of play today.

bumpa - agreed. Sarawak is the prize but Wrestle would be nice to have. If it fails do remember that it is a conditional purchase so does not impinge on the BS.

RNS on another site has the following paragraph for anyone not realizing the significance of this for Upland

"On 24 November 2016, Europa announced it had signed a Sale and Purchase Agreement (‘SPA’) with Upland Resources (UK Onshore) Limited (‘Upland’;) in relation to a 10% interest in PEDLs 180 and 182. Completion of the SPA, which is subject to approval from the Oil & Gas Authority, would result in Europa retaining a 20% interest in the Licences."
