Yes, still a holder in Scottish Mortgage. Its the value investor in me. All I'm saying is that Scottish Mortgage will be one of the worst performers in a bear market. We are not quite into bear market territory, but when it roars I can see Scottish Mortgage losing 75-80%. I have 4-bagged on Scottish Mortgage, but could of 10-bagged if I had held course. You have obviously done better than me by staying the course, so well done. I will buy some Scottish Mortgage again in the depths of recession like I did in 2009. Until then, I will give it a miss!

Yes. Likewise we'll have to disagree on your forecast that Scottish Mortgage is headed for 100p (up again today at 472p).

By the way, dishonest is your word, not mine. A word I never used.

I have said they are untrustworthy. Do pay attention.

ALL IMO. DYOR.

Think we will have to agree to differ on that QuePassa. If they were really dishonest, then they would have taken it private at 40p when they had the chance!

A most untrustworthy company which horrifically missed its own sales forecasts so rapidly, so woefully , so soon after flotation.

All looks really good. QuePassa - just because they had a weak year in 2018 is not reason to not trust management in my view. Business is volatile. I've not seen anything untrustworthy in any of their RNS statements to date. Indeed, I would go as far to say that they have been very trustworthy. Their original warning was an exceed expectations in the current year and a miss the following year. Untrustworthy management would only have mentioned the former and had a dreadful warning later (i.e. kept quiet about the bad news as long as they could)!

I do believe they are turning things around. The market is always slow to forgive but it allows us to buy at a cheaper level than otherwise. GLA looking good

It is possible for company's to reinvent themselves and turn things around. Just look at Liverpool FC as an example.

As far as I know the board has maintained its dividend policy. If you are talking about a cut in the amount of the dividend then surely you are duplicating your points

"The Board has established a dividend policy of distributing 50 % of the Group's adjusted profit after tax."

Keep the faith???

believe you me. if shareholders got shafted twice already in less than two years from flotation on

1). horrifically missed sales targets as spelled out in their IPO prospectus,
2). divi cut

they can get shafted again.

good luck all, whether holder, shorter or trader alike.

all imo. dyor.

The markets are forward looking.
It also has a short memory.
You can't use past issues or performance as a rigid guide for investment or sale - otherwise shareprices/graphs would go straight up or down in a line.

They had issues - they reported them in a timely manner, and the share-price tanked.
They have now resolved them, are moving into new markets that are growing strongly - and have reported accordingly.

They also pay a cracking divi, which can only get better.

Whats not to like?

Great price to get in at in my opinion.

What is your motive for posting QuePassa?

Fair enough. Appreciate the contrary view, out of curiosity what brings you to this BB? Long term holder, shorter or an ex share that caused some losses?

always the same..... you guys say it's going up/special situation/bouncing etc etc etc

but none of you ever give any reasons or rationale or explanation as to why it is a good company to invest in.

so you may be trading the share -in which case, well done- but none of you are long-term investors. And i have nothing other than respect for share traders but the thing about them is that when they have achieved their short-term market-driven target return, they sell and wisely capture a good trading profit and move on.

so traders are moving this share who perceive an oversold/bottom-fishing/trend-driven short-term upside but there are no fundamental reasons why this is a good company in its own right in my view. unless anybody cares to put a solid case forward?

so, genuinely well done to traders but as a longer-term hold, this company stinks in my opinion.

Kettles and toasters just ain't the way forward.

all imo. dyor.

yawn yawn yawn.

personally wouldn't trust this company - yes the market may be buying at distressed prices but with a horrific miss on their sales forecasts and a subsequent divi cut, it is clear how little regard management have for shareholders.

in my opinion this is a terrible company with untrustworthy management.

good luck all.

Not heard of a special situations fund QuePassa. Following the trend is the key to making money and setting tight stops of course.

Quite. I have friends still sitting on a hefty loss. They've given it up as dead and let the shares ride. For those buying at the bottom, they've just doubled their money with more to come. Life is often about perspective.
