21/8/2019 07:18 | Directors are buying | mr hangman
20/8/2019 13:37 | Although any significant increase in profitability over the last three years has been held back by a high level of development expenditure ie investment in the future, which is either written off annually or capitalised and amortised annually, the returns from this investment may now be beginning to pay off.Although there has also been quite a significant increase in senior management spend eg on marketing, much of the GP on increased turnover should flow thru' to the bottom line, all this aided and abetted by selective acquisition activity.I have been a little critical of senior management in the past on account of what I would describe as an somewhat overly conservative approach to business not least a parsimonious newsflow, however I have always been advised that the figures will talk in due course.Perhaps this is about to happen.I also think and have stated to the Board that a share consolidation would be a good idea in order to get the company out of the "penny stock" category and all that this connotes;furthermore it would it go some way to reducing the excessively large spreads that market makers seem able to charge on any share transaction. | thorne3
20/8/2019 09:32 | Another great stock indeed.....up 20% this morning and over 50% since the start of the year. Hopefully the company is in a good recovery phase now following the acquisition a few months ago which looked a very good deal. | davidosh
24/7/2019 16:23 | Another great stock from the Mello stable | mr hangman
24/7/2019 16:16 | thorne3......No problem....you can email me through Mello (david @ melloevents.com) | davidosh
24/7/2019 15:16 | Davidosh-As a substantial shareholder with some 4m.plus of shares on board I would be happy to join you in September and make your acquaintance;I think we could have a lot to talk about.Perhaps you might give me heads up on time and place in due course. | thorne3
19/7/2019 10:20 | With my large shareholding here and my Mello hat on I often arrange meetings with the management of many companies throughout the year but especially on release of results. I unfortunately missed the Agm presentation so this was my catch up but certainly happy that five others could make it. I am hoping to have Universe Group do an interim presentation in late September when the H1 results are released. The new acquisition certainly looks a good fit. A brief presentation containing no inside information will be provided to shareholders. This presentation will be uploaded to the Company's website at www.universe-group.c | davidosh
19/7/2019 09:55 | Unfortunately I couldn't make this meeting, though would be interested in any future ones and am city-based. If you have any feedback on how the meeting went that would be most appreciated. This is a small-ish long-held position for me which the only reason I haven't sold is the lack of liquidity and the possibility it might suddenly become a growth share again as the R&D pays off and there is top-line growth. | brileyloucan
18/7/2019 19:30 | And in a different city, Stoke-on-Trent maybe. Lol | melton john
18/7/2019 14:03 | Would have been interested had I known about it.Who arranged the meeting? | thorne3
17/7/2019 11:47 | Anyone interested in meeting management tomorrow at 11.15 in the City? | davidosh
30/4/2019 22:22 | I see Gresham House have increased their holding by 2.15%. It seems to me the 5m Sell yesterday was actually Gresham House Buy. I wonder who was the 4.077m & 922k Delayed Notified Sell. Or it could have been the other way round with the 4.077m & 922k Gresham House Buys then who was the 5m Seller. Gresham House have been steadily increasing their stake as in November last year they held 9.40%, then increased to 10.21% and now a further increase to 12.36% Gresham House Strategic 'invests primarily in UK and European smaller public companies, applying private equity style techniques and due diligence alongside a value investment philosophy to construct a focused portfolio expected to be comprised of 10-15 companies.' | loganair
26/4/2019 17:13 | Also very encouraging to know that the CEO and directors considered the S/P as low and funded the acquisition with existing funds as not to dilute the S/P further. | dealit
26/4/2019 10:06 | When reading what the CEO had to say, so much seems to be about Forecort, Shell petrol stations etc which is only a very small market. He also mentions Ubamarket for Convenience stores - how about seeing if McColl's will install them. McColl's have over 1,000 Convenience stores and have been getting closer with Morrison's who are already a customer of Universe. I hope the purchase of Celltech makes as big a positive impact on Universe as the CEO seems to be implying it will. | loganair
17/4/2019 08:45 | . . . . should have said on an earnings basis. If it helps not obviously expensive either. | ironstorm
17/4/2019 08:24 | Not Cheap?!?! Have you seen the Book Value alone? | 5oletrader
17/4/2019 08:08 | Company has done well as you say but not obviously cheap at these levels. It's all in the outlook - "expect to grow significantly". | ironstorm
17/4/2019 07:36 | I do feel UNG have done well to stay in profit considerating the loss of Conviviality Plc. UNG feel confident in future growth. | dealit
03/4/2019 19:58 | On the face of the buy out of Camden-Technology seems ok just, they had a poor 2018. It will be interesting to see what UNG say in the results due out this month, No response from the Market. | dealit
03/4/2019 19:23 | Lunchtime RNS issued - Takeover of Irish registered Camden Technology. The terms look generous but claimed to be earnings enhancing. | boadicea
06/2/2019 15:50 | Yes it was tipped in the Techinvest Newsletter post the Euro Garage deal;I believe the corner has been turned and with a few selective acquisitions the share price performance of Universe could be very attractive over the next few years. | thorne3
05/2/2019 14:46 | s/p rise usually followed by news. | dealit
05/2/2019 10:04 | I would say just Postive Sentiment is starting to return after a couple of years of very negative sentiment towards Universe. Remember Universe is a profitable company with no debt, actually has cash in the bank. I've been waiting many years for a return to paying dividends, even if it is just a very small one will most probably lift the share price considerably. | loganair |
