INTRIGUING or what?!'~#

85.7m shares (9.9% of the Company) sold @ 52.5p...

Looks as though 12.2m were bt back on a put-through @ 52.605p.

The other 73.5m not yet accounted for....but my money is on a buyback. Would be a damned good deal for UKCM shareholders IMO.

Still, will wait for a lower price before I'm back in - reasons stated in previous posts.

UKCM is controlled by Resolution; and the head of Resolution, Clive Cowdery, is bizarrely under investigation by the FSA - see below.

I'm sure there can be no truth in anything scurrilous, but due to the uncertainty perhaps better to leave UKCM alone for the moment and buy should they fall back to the 50p-54p range again. In the meantime buy FCPT on a down day.

Thanks once again Skyship.
I must say I like the idea of a monthly divi from FCPT.
Being a senior citizen as they say, and with savings rate as poor as they are I am very happy to risk a small fall in capital value in the present market conditions.

Pip - enlarged on FCPT over on the relevant thread - see link below. Have also bought in to ALPH today; and posted on that thread too.

On my watch list but have`nt researched it.
Can you enlarge on the figures please Skyship.
Many thanks for your pointers.

Hi Pip - No - not yet. However I did add to my FCPT as the figures are better there at the moment. I assume you've looked at that one too.

On it`s way again, bought back in yesterday.
The thirst for an ungeared income is plain to see.
Trust you might have bought back in yourself Skyship.

Extraordinary - they did get to 65p last week - a chum sold @ 64.2p. Peeled off that over-valuation quite quickly - now back to 56p - nearing buying territory.

Skyship - I've no property holdings at present although I do keep an eye open for things to buy. I sold most of my PIT holdings at the end of 2006. Subsequently, just the odd trade here and there when I think it's a no brainer. I remain cautious but will definitely be buying things again in the sector at some point. Not sure when but I have been looking at one or two stocks with more interest recently.
My interest in posting is that (1) I follow the sector very closely and (2) to try and keep a sense of balance. Hopefully most of my posts are reasonably informed and have helped one or two longer term investors to save some money.
In case you're wondering, I've never shorted a share.

chopshs - with respect to ALL your posts on the property threads - do you mind sharing with us, do you actually hold any property stocks or are you a potential investor at lower levels?

As to yr comment re 65p - Yes, I believe that could be too optimistic; but for the first time in an age I'm resisting the opportunity to profit-take.

Lovely graphic Skyship but I can't see 65p myself - that would be less than 10% discount. Having said that I can't believe people are buying today at circa 60p! Will be back towards 50p soon imo.

The sector recovery could take us back up to the Nov'08 resistance @ 65p. The yield is 8% at that level.

Building up a nice head of steam it appears.
Dividend time approaching.

You certainly live dangerously! Timing definitely of the essence with those.

As you may be aware, I screwed up bigtime in my timing with IERE. Sickens me to think I could have exited with a good profit when they briefly rallied North of 30p on the last set of numbers just 2 months ago. They're now back to 6.5p!! Still, the end-November refinacing package buys them plenty of time - albeit in expensive fashion. Today's asset sale is just the start; and every asset sale that follows will serve to remind investors that the NAV is well North of 100p. So, I'm hopeful of multi-bagger status from here.

Incidentally, bt a few more UKCM @ 55p today - higher than my usual buying range - but still on a yield of 9.5%.

SKYSHIP, my pleasure. Normally what I tip as bargains don't quite work out that way, so this was a BIG exception. I should thank my lucky stars. Had lots of luck so far this year with dgre & cpt!!!

Good news indeed Skyship.
Would like to see the same good news apply to IPI, at least with a divi it would feel better.

Hi Cancun - I'm glad you've come across to have a look - I suspect you won't regret it! As for the RNS, this is a pretty standard Auction Statement put out at the close of play on SETs stocks - perhaps in this case it related to the 77k bt @ 54.5p in the auction.

I notice that the Standard Life Trust (SLI) is partly financed through an issue of redeemable zero dividend preference shares.

Would this be a good idea for some of the trusts that might otherwise breach their covenants?

Fully loaded up again at prices all the way down from 54.5p to a tad under 52p - could have bought even cheaper, as some did today @ 51.25p!

CP seems to be really in the doghouse at the moment with BLND down @ 424p (after 416p) & BXTN @ 71.5p (after 70p) + many other such absurd prices. HMSO @ 377p (after 360p!!). Wish I could see what it is that will turn this sector around; and of course be given a few minutes notice of the single event. Could well be a private equity bid for something large.

Hi Skyship.
Not had a lot to do with silver, but I did have a holding in the Central Fund Of Canada which carries a large portion of Silver.
The only exposure I have is a small Gold holding with Bullion Vault plus a holding in Leyshon Resources. Should be some news on Leyshon next month hopefully good news. Watch the tennis elbow with all that polishing.
