25/11/2023 12:47 | Sector slowdown offers opportunities to specialist consultancies. 08 November 2023 Consultancy.uk With growth slowing across the professional services sector, many large firms have found themselves downsizing their headcount while scrambling to preserve their profit margins. Bryce Wolf, senior manager at Unit4, explains how smaller consultancies with specialist skills can take advantage of the situation. 2023 was always going to be challenging for professional services firms as Source Global Research suggested in January when it forecast growth to decline to 7% in 2024 from actuals of 11.5% in 2021. More recently, a flurry of cost reduction exercises from the major consultancy firms has suggested difficult times ahead as clients reassess their approach to bringing in outside support. Certainly, navigating the ‘poly crisis’ is hard. Inflation has reduced consumer demand and scarcity of raw materials in the supply chain has increased costs, which, combined with tricky geopolitical tensions, has made clients hesitant to invest. Add to this the rise of AI and automation technologies and there is a suggestion that some of the previous roles of consultancy firms are becoming superfluous. Sector slowdown offers opportunities to specialist consultancies For the bigger firms who bulked up with staff during the pandemic due to the demand for digital transformation support, on paper they have more resources to potentially ride out the economic challenges ahead as they can claim to offer a one-stop shop for all their clients’ needs. However, is that what clients want? The consultant’s predictable answer is “it depends.” It depends on the client, the industry, domain knowledge, and experience. What is certain, though, is that clients want far more specific, specialist insight rather than highly scripted, generalist advice. The “rinse, lather, repeat” method has grown tired, but the specialist consultancies need to be astute in their hiring strategies to ensure they are attracting subject matter experts that help them stand out. The boutique firms that can combine the best personnel with relevant industry insights and skill sets will deliver more value and build more defensible specialisms in niche sectors. //////////////////// Exactly what Triad has achieved over the last five years. I personally believe the competitions offering is poor, they have traditionally won work on price not quality. The sweet spot is being the best ( that takes grind and spades of effort), but it pays off for all parties. | sunshine today

24/11/2023 14:54 | Understanding shares to make fantastic long term gains is extremely simple. You just require a business where you can trust the directors and staff and the product or service offered is what you personally would be proud of. Growth is a total waste of space unless it delivers profit. Investors have yet to spot Triad, since it changed direction four or five years ago. Aided over the last two years by the near elimination of contract labour towards permanent staff, hand picked to be way above the average. Adoption of a low cost management model with staff working from home or on client premises . This has resulted in low value work being dumped and as a result, falling turnover. We are now at, or very close to, the tipping point where the basic business overhead is covered by revenue and each extra million of turnover produces a large lump of profit. For profits and dividends to grow very substantially growth of perhaps 25% is ample, more to the point, manageable to keep quality of work delivered very high. The next few years should I believe see staff, directors, and shareholders rewarded. | sunshine today

22/11/2023 11:41 | “There are pockets of excellence in delivery across government, but we know there is more that we could do to support teams to collaborate and deliver at pace easily. We want to scale these pockets of excellence by addressing the systemic obstacles to digital transformation, as outlined in Mission six of our Transforming for a digital future strategy.“ Triad is perfectly positioned being a member on the U.K. Tech council, having 35 years of experience working with Government, and being an SME. 13/11/2023 15:09 | Annual Report 2023 Digital Services & Programmes. Significant investment went into the development of our "Communities of Practice" model. The three practice areas cover (a) business analysis, user research, and user experience (b) technical and (c) delivery management, project management and PMO. Every consultant is a member of at least one practice area, and these are self-organising groups that seek to develop the collective skill-base to continuously improve our client offering. Cutting across the practice areas we developed "The Model Consultant" framework, aimed at producing a consistently rewarding experience for our clients and providing staff with a means of continuous professional development. The solidification of these support systems during the year is a crucial part of preparing the Company for further headcount development. //////////////////// At a pure guess, it’s planned headcount growth. Its all happening here folks and we will all soon know. Place your bets before the wheel stops spinning... | netcurtains

The awards were for technical and delivery excellence. At £20M market cap ,less the cash of £5.M you’re buying a quality outfit, for peanuts. | sunshine today |
