Last point - rtd coffee will have margins at a multiple of their other products so let's hope they ramp this division asap. The website seems geared for that - perhaps investors should "smell the coffee"..

That episode was so funny ottrott, i literally fell on the floor laughing watching that.
It amazes me that investors go out and buy their (best-selling) books read by thousands of other investors, and think they suddenly have discovered some kind of magical holy grail, Upstart, just about sums him up Lol.

Plenty of studies and evidence to also suggest to the contrary that buying on profit warnings and averaging down are also sound money making strategies in their own way.

Im not so sure the CFO Richard Hope (nor any other director) did know at the interims that the forecasts were not achievable. There was a capital markets day soon after with a good analyst attendance, im pretty sure all the relevant questions were asked back then. The directors have an excellent track record in this regard of being upfront with investors.

As to the hedges, we musnt forget that up till now they were working fine. Thats the thing with hedges, they are not perfect and can backfire, sometimes dramatically as in this case. So i dont think its fair to condemn Richard Hope for something he would have put in place (along with long term contracts) perhaps quite a while ago. At the time, it would have looked a very sensible move and he couldnt have foresaw the Ukraine invasion by Putin for instance.

No, i very much doubt the premium rating will disappear here and certainly not forever.

This is still a quality company and will remain so in investors eyes. I doubt anyone here is selling for instance, and i know i keep saying this but dont be surprised if a bid (at a premium to current sp) will come along.

Sadly not myself, would like to hear from anyone that did?

Pleasing to see the price come off its recent lows (and those of us that bought around 800p or below have already been rewarded for our faith) perhaps suggests that investors that did attend are satisfied with what the company previously announced around "seasonality" for H1, (which was a v obvious over-reaction to the downside).

Its already on a full rating, the price will fluctuate. You cant expect the share price to move up every day, week and month. Investors are just way too short termist in their thinking and actions. This is a long term play.

H1 will be softer due to seasonality (company has talked about this months ago), no reason not to suspect that H2 will once again show excellent growth and the company will be back to its brilliant self. The strong industry growth trends are still firmly in place after all.

Sure, every investor has to make decisions and it's what makes a market after all.

I would argue that there is no rhyme nor reason why this company should disappoint (not any time soon at least) as they are riding a very strong growth trend that has years still to run.
This is backed up, in some way, by a smattering of heavy director buying in recent weeks and months.

A per of around 40 is inexpensive for a growth company of this calibre and certainly if any trade buyer is interested they would have to pay considerably more than that if they wanted to buy them.

Edit: Just one point on the dividend yield; the dividend is being increased at a faster rate. A 25% uplift YoY (+ 32.2% in the final div). Assuming then the share price stays the same, it will only take three years to double the yield to 1.4%.

160 mile round trip for me, cfro, so quite manageable - always held this time of year and there have been times when there has been snow on the ground (my first visit was in 2003 and been to most since). State of the art offices and staff rest/breakout areas. Very good coffee! Did not look round the labs, but these are shared where necessary with customers and feedback from them has apparently been excellent. Still some heed paid to COVID-19 and I would expect full tour at AGM next year.

Building on a large plot, with room to add if needs be - wouldn't that be nice in 5 years time? About 30 people there, including a number of employees and former employees. Guess 3 or 4 keen amateur investors like me, plus several from investment houses (spoke with a chap from JM Finn).

When considering AGM at long range, often take the wife and we have a short break in a nice hotel for a couple of nights!

Yes, I agree that there is likely to be a TU very soon - although perhaps not certain (or required if in-line).

Last year was 22/1. I think there is a CMD (for institutional investors only, I guess) on Friday 21st, so my speculation is that it might come in advance of that (so tomorrow or Friday) if they want to make those discussions more meaningful and be able to discuss recent trading.

MIDAS SHARE TIPS 2021 WINNERS AND LOSERS

Treatt

Healthy eating was considered faddish a few years ago. Now more and more people are jumping on the bandwagon and companies are too, as sugar is associated with conditions from diabetes to heart disease. Treatt is a major beneficiary of this trend.

Initially recommended by Midas in 2014 at £1.59, we looked again at the company in January when the price was £7.50. The stock has since risen to £12.15, a more than 60 per cent rise this year alone.

Treatt uses ingredients such as lemon extract, ginger and watermelon to make fragrances and flavourings for food and drink, from snack bars to iced tea.

Chief executive Daemmon Reeve unveiled a 41 per cent jump in profits to £20.9million for the year to 30 September and a chunky, 25 per cent increase in the dividend to 7.5p, testament to his confidence about the future.

Midas verdict: Treatt is like the gift that keeps on giving. Investors have already made a more than sevenfold return on this stock but, at £12.10, the price should continue to rise. Stick with it.
