A bit of pullback should be expected after 4 days rises. For anyone interested the new company's website:

Emailed Ruth to let her know about the mistake - maybe we will get a correction in todays. FWIW we seem to be getting some newspaper write-ups so maybe the weekend will bring some more coverage...Gartmore seems very keen to accumulate.

Yep - stockmarket reporter - bit slack - however, IC had a little paragraph on it, saying there is huge market potential here - headline was 'Chinese dial into AIM' - could be good publicity if nothing else.

A bit more EBT Mobile China:

EBT Mobile To Sell Mobile Games In China Through ProvisionX

EBT Mobile teams up with ProvisionX to distribute mobile games in their retail stores in the Shanghai region

SINGAPORE – 14 June, 2005 - ProvisionX, provider of an outsourced mobile gaming service delivery platform for mobile operators, gained a foothold in mainland China by securing a contract with EBT Mobile to use its mobile gaming delivery platform for the distribution of mobile games in EBT stores across China.

EBT Mobile will offer a selection of mobile games in its stores to its customers, and they will be able to download the game they bought directly to their handset. By buying a scratch card at the counter and receiving an SMS that links them to the EBT gaming WAP site, customers can enter their unique scratch card number to download the game they bought.

gThis channel of distribution is very strategic to us,h said Marc Campman, Head of Business Development, ProvisionX. gProvisionX uses a variety of sales channels including WAP, WWW, advertising and retail. We believe that the mobile phone buying scenario in the Chinese market lends itself very well for selling mobile games via retailh.

gSelling mobile phones in China is very competitive,h said Zhang Ge, President and COO of EBT Mobile. gProvisionX enables us to enhance our service offering to our customers without having to invest in additional resources to manage the gaming service.h

Ovum expects the revenues from mobile games to grow from US$ 2.5 billion in 2005 to a respectable US$ 4.5 billion in 2008 (about 9% of total premium content revenues). The largest market for wireless games is Asia Pacific, driven by Japan and South Korea. Followed by Western Europe and the US

Very strange report from the stockmarket reporter - I suspect they need to do a little more research. Shame as it would have been good publicity if they had got their information right. I assume they are talking about TES??

---------------------------------------------------------------

The online gambling sector has been a hit with investors, but most have been focused on gaming operators. Investors took notice today after Trading Exchange, which provides gambling technology to online gambling companies, announced that Gartmore Investment Management had taken a 17.42% stake in the group. The shares jumped 2p to 32p.

Arc, TES is not really a joint venture - it is a Chinese company that has chosen to float on the AIM stock market to get the access to capital markets - they are in it for themselves to make money.

Well I had a fair hearing which is appreciated. None of the rant often found when someone queries a faourite play.

My point is that people see China as part of a gold rush and it is currently soaking up western capital. I am sceptical about such joint ventures etc because I think that they can outsmart us.
Still good luck to all who sail in her and let`s hope that I have to eat my words when say the PE gets to 15 and it is paying a reasonable dividend. My fear is that it will keep eating up capital on a jam tomorrow basis. That`s probably OK for the momentum types-some will do well.

Looks like Elenora have sold for Gartmore to get in. I suspect they will be selling down there 3% although we will not get any further RNS to tell us this;

royal - the poet is right. You get all the AIM benefits of taper relief on CGT but this is not a new issue. We own shares in a cash shell effectively that has realised a reverse take over. It will have saved them a lot of time and hassle associated with a new issue AND they get something like £1.6m in cash to start them off.

My opinion is that it will not be since you are still buying (new)shares in an existing company (TES).

But I believe you can still get tax benefits if you hold them for 2 years.

Question

Anyone tell me if by buying these now, when the reverse takeover happens, will this then be classed as a new issue?

The reason I ask the question is that certain purchases of new issue AIM stocks qualify you for offsetting CG's Tax from other sales, plus other tax advantages.

Thanks.

ThePoet - do you mean volumes are falling - as in "the volume is in descent" or that volume is good as in "the volume is decent".

I do wonder if Gartmore are after even more - need to research which fund this is going into and who the manager is.

Someone should get Citywire to do a piece - they like stories like this one.

Yep - have to agree that at some point the traders will come in and bid this up as an exciting China mobile play...probably on the run up to the name change...

Arcadian, your post is correct - China is a very tough place to do business - it is very competitive and there are cultural differences that need to be taken into account.

All this should really be in the price - note that one of the supermarket deals is with a French multinational who are expanding all over China.

Nobody should be under any illusion that is will be tough but there is no reason that TES will not be able to expand throughout China - the bigger they get the better deals they can negotiate with network providers etc. and the larger the profits.

My point remains though, irrespective of fundamentals, that this is also a AIM CHINA play and that there are not many about so you may still get a lot of money coming into TES because if you are an investor who wants access to the CHINA in your portfolio (and everyone should imo) this is an excellent play and once we get the name change etc. the company will become much better known.

Conclusion is that the possible problems are already in the price and most small investors will appreciate your points but still think this is an excellent opportunity to buy in on the ground floor before the masses want a piece.

Another buy by Gartmore - this share is also flying today - why you sold Hyper is really beyond me - you got in on the ground floor and off the the first when it should have been clear this had a lot further to go.

I've bought in not a huge amount 15,000 shares. I think that they are a good punt short term with the desire to have a status symble amongst your friends. Same happend over here if you remember, they were mega expensive at one time but the volume of customer purchases made the market very strong and in turn has created a huge industry. Give them 6 months and see how it goes I think... We will see (set your stop losses)

Despite the hype and the perceived prospects, this Chinese company has raised a lot of money, I assume from the West but I have yet to be convinced that they will work their butts off in a growing market to send loads of profits to the western shareholders. The Chinese are very good at( and I`m not blaming them)keeping profits to themselves. You should read Tom Clissold`s book "Mr China" (reviewed in The FT Mag. May 2004) on how his company blew almost $400 million on a venture there . He did everything by the book, learned Madarin Chinese and courted everyone properly but in vain- a lesson to those who think China is easy pickings because of size and growth potential.
I have friends who have businesses in China and the message is "caveat emptor"
