Thought I would try and put together a comparison table of the stocks so far.
They are currently ordered by the quantity of contained metal in their resources.
It should be noted that Adex's elevated number is due to lumping the Sn, Wo & Mo from it's two projects - so perhaps a bit misleading!

I certainly like Venture - having both Sn & Wo, although grades are rather low.
Kasbah is the most expensive of the developers but grade is reasonable and they would appear to have good support from Toyota (Metal shown is at 80% attributable).
Taronga looks interesting - but unlisted as yet.
Stellar has a small resource but grade is excellent. But financing will be a challenge from it's low base.
Looking forward to a maiden resource estimate from Eurotin in order to get it established on an 'apples to apples' basis.

Stellar report a pretty decent new drill hole - albeit a bit deep!

Chip,

Yes, I like Tungsten too. Wolf minerals seem well-placed - thought they came across well when I visited their stand at the mines and money show late last year. Am following their thread and watching how the financing is going. The tin will certainly be a handy credit when they get into production.

chip,

What a tonic to come across your new thread after coming back from a couple of weeks sunshine R&R away from these grotty markets. Superb job as usual! I think the ITRI tin organisation has a pretty good handle on newcomers.

The Consolidated drill results were pretty impressive as near surface suggest lower-cost open pit option. Eurotin's first resource statement due any day now so should soon have something concrete to compare with Kasbah et al.

This is the kind of stuff I find interesting when it comes to the economic potential of tin:

Another tour de force. Terrific Chipperford. I dare say we'll stick a nose in visibly from time to time.

I have put initial summaries of what I consider to be potential gainers from Tin exposure in the header. There are undoubtedly other interesting stocks that I may have missed. If people know of any, or wish to comment/add/suggest improvements to the thread, please fire away!

I have left out Wolf & Silver Standard (because of their relatively small exposure to Tin compared to their principal minerals. However, because of my own interest, I think I will attempt to build a Tungsten equivalent of this thread to better explore the range of Tungsten stocks available.

For the avoidance of doubt, the 'Attrib Val/t ($)' figures given in the tables are my calculation of the attributable gross value of minerals (both Sn & bi-products) per tonne of JORC categorised ore, based on current metal prices. Clearly these figures will change with spot prices, increased tonnages and changes to ownership of ore deposits. I will try and update on a weekly/bi-weekly basis and will also try and highlight any significant announcements - if I catch them!

I am not really expecting a wide usage of this thread but would appreciate getting the odd post from others who may be interested in the potential of Tin investments for the years ahead.

Outback Metals is a tiny exploration outfit with ELs prospective for Tin in the Northern Territories.

Unlikely to be more than a long range speculative punt but worth keeping under watch for the time being.

Taronga Mines Ltd is currently unlisted but due to IPO in 2H12 (unavailable unless Oz resident!!)

It does appear to have a very significant set of ELs across the Taronga region of NSW which were previously taken to feasibility by Newmont (1978-1984) when they came up with an estimated 46.750mt @ 0.145% Sn (67.8kt Sn).

May well be one to watch after the IPO although it will clearly take several years to advance project towards production.

Carpentaria Exploration does not have a clear Tin prospect so I will remove it from further consideration.

Paradigm Metals likewise has minimal exposure to Tin although it does hold an EL over a tungsten project area in NSW. Hence I am removing it.

Malachite Resources also appears to offer little by way of exposure to medium-term Tin upside. Therefore I am removing it from consideration.
