22/11/2017 18:12 | I am pretty sure the old farmer could teach us all a thing or two how to save money. He is a farmer, all farmers are tight gits. Does that mean all tight gits are farmers...not true as I am not a farmer. | jonjonck
22/11/2017 18:09 | Evening all, FFP , don't despair I'll send tony around , no forget that, Old man tony and Don are residing in your residence I'm sure they'll give you some good advice on saving and spending, the only thing is,..........they probably want to know your credit rating and wellie size.On the other hand a few cases of something drinkable will oil things along. | gonzo123
22/11/2017 18:01 | Jacket spud with tuna ....always the same on a Wednesday. Bangers and Mash sounds good though with the gravy stuff. Rats , now I fancy liver and bacon with gravy | ignoble
22/11/2017 17:37 | When close to or retiring you start to look at regular monies going out of the account. Papers for us are nearly £500 a year. Mail on line want £99 a year. Mmmmm trouble is we have to ask our nice old boy who delivers to cancel...I read books on a kindle so why should I not read a paper on it? | ffp
22/11/2017 17:14 | I am suffering from extreme brainfade - just sorted out car insurance. What an amazing difference in cost for same insurance cover depending on route taken to get there. In the end went with Santander as cheapest when adding Master R by far. 10% cashback as Santander customer. Went via a cash back site and Go-compare and quote was a lot cheaper (£150 cheaper) and I get £30 cashback. Using confused.com quote was much the same as going direct to Santander. The AA wanted well over £1000 to include Richard which is just ripping me off. Moving on..... what is for din dins, or in FFP's case Thupper? We can offer Bangers and Mash ---- with lashings of brown stuff. | jonjonck

21/11/2017 09:09 | ignoble; when you relies/executor notify the death, they will be offered an all in one service that notifies HMRC, DSS, council Blue Badge, Attendance allowance etc etc who press the appropriate buttons and make things happen/stop. Yes, it stops. Mrs ignoble may get a widows benefit and her own pension but essentially she gets what she saved for. BUT BUT BUT; It is really worth logging onto her Govt Gateway account (set it up if it isn't already done) and looking at how many qualifying years of pension she has if you have any concerns. Buying back years is often possible and can be extremely good value. Meantime, it is grimly worth considering; Power of Attorney. Using IHT Gifting rules. Making a will so your money goes where you want it to and not where the state says (inc ultimately to Prince Charlie Farlie BA/FA if no relies exist)? Beware what banks and financial institutions will steal from your estate if you haven't sorted it pre-passing on to greater glory. Barclays were extremely underhand in this regard when my Mum died. | ccnp
21/11/2017 08:54 | Silly question .. when I snuff it , what happens to my state pension ? Does it just end ? I take it there is no benefit transferred to Mrs Ig I can't see why it should be as at some point she will receive hers. | ignoble
21/11/2017 08:50 | Morning chaps Certainly mild down here Quiet day planned for me ... Had a win yesterday ... my utility provider reduced my monthly direct debit by £20 per month as I appear to be a little in credit according to their projections. Every little helps Bad news is my water bill is higher. Such is life. | ignoble
20/11/2017 09:30 | Good Morning. Less than a £1 a year as would probably have only cost about £10 or less when I bought them. | jonjonck
20/11/2017 06:52 | Raining but mild | ignoble |
