24/11/2016 10:26 | It is tricky.......they are running on fumes (almost no cash left) and on top of that they are embroiled in a legal case and have their Kaz subsidiaries frozen. They must find a solution next couple of weeks or they will have to call in the administrators. | casual47
24/11/2016 10:20 | Must be incredibly difficult and tricky ~ I have patience for the Board who must be doing their best: wishing everyone some start to success here. | gaaston
24/11/2016 07:35 | Dragging on this placement......wtf is going on...? | neilyb675
23/11/2016 22:29 | TI, If the aim of the 3500 trade is to frighten the PI's into dumping stock, then it is pathetic !. More interesting is the experience of Mattias Sjoborg, the new director. He has experience predominantly in emerging markets and has led teams through origination, due diligence, negotiation and the restructuring of medium to large emerging market enterprises. Due Diligence, Emerging Markets, and Restructuring experience are key items in current negotiations with the potential new investors, Winston Soosaipillai and Medgat Kumar and in the search for a credible new partner for Tethys in its current plan to stabilise the ship. OR am I reading too much into the timing of his appointment as a director ?. | hguess16
23/11/2016 16:26 | hguess16, maybe it might be an idea to email your following comment to Wells and May just to give them a helping hand so to speak? "I would like to see the new team come up with a deal that removes the short term debt and fund its existing shallow gas and oil wells. They need to raise up to $40m by using its existing proved reserves." That certainly would put a bit of excitement back into this dull disappointment of a company. | temporarily insane
23/11/2016 14:54 | hguess16 with regards to your last paragraph........... How hard can the management make this, this time??????? | temporarily insane
23/11/2016 14:51 | Interesting discussion and comments from Ben, Casual and TI !. There is value in the Tethys franchise. 1. It has licences in KAZ and Georgia. There is value in the existing proved reserves which I feel should be used as a base for borrowing over a 3-5 year time span. 2. The oil price is nearer $50 pb rather than $30 pb 3. The founder investor PAM is still on board and in addition the founder of PAM, Bill Wells is now chairman of Tethys. 4. Tethys has a new CEO, Ken May 5. A new Non-Exec Director, Mattty Sjoberg has come on board. I would like to see the new team come up with a deal that removes the short term debt and fund its existing shallow gas and oil wells. They need to raise up to $40m by using its existing proved reserves. | hguess16
23/11/2016 14:51 | Wrong on TD Securities but correct on the amount of 1000. 2 out of 3 isnt bad considering its supposed to be completely random acts of trading. | temporarily insane
23/11/2016 14:29 | So just to make a mockery of the TSX Im guessing down today. | temporarily insane
23/11/2016 14:08 | We sit here waiting as we have done for the past few years!!!!!!!! | temporarily insane
23/11/2016 14:06 | Wells and May in charge along with a few other educated individuals should be able to turn Tethys around and create a viable business. | temporarily insane
23/11/2016 14:00 | As the vast majority of debt is unsecured it makes sense for the lenders to give TPL a break and agree to new terms. The alternative for unsecured debt lenders is to take TPL to court but as all the assets sit with subsidiaries in countries like Kaz the real risk is that they get nothing back. Critical is for TPL to get cash to keep the lights on and keep paying the lawyers and to remove the bank account freeze in Kaz so they can pay their employees/contractor | casual47
23/11/2016 13:54 | Tajikistan doesn't matter at all. Worst case they let the subsidiary go bust or sell it for a penny. The parent company TPL is not a guarantor for any liabilities from the Taj subsidiary. | casual47
23/11/2016 13:46 | To give Wells some credit, getting the Abramov case dismissed was monumental. Abramov/Olisol expected the case to take months, which would have been enough to basically destroy Tethys. Now it's so important they are able to get the seemingly more frivolous EGG suit dismissed... And it is so important that the Tajikistan stuff is delayed for as long as possible -- cause heaven knows how we can get anything but bad news from that. | benandemmiboo
23/11/2016 13:16 | Looking forward to some positive movement. | temporarily insane
23/11/2016 13:08 | Shareprophets/Angel may well be right. To balance their article: Shareprophets said the same about 11 months ago. The share price did recover then, albeit briefly and obviously they are still in business.....knock on wood. | casual47
23/11/2016 12:49 | Here is the more negative assessment concerning the state of Tethys Petroleum: hxxp://www.shareprop Tethys needs to move ultra quick. I have no idea what were the short term moves that supposedly brought down the share price, but this company would be in good health if the Sinohan deal went forward; it didn't. It would be most likely okay if the AGR deal was renegotiated after the collapse of the tenge in August 2015 (here, Tethys/AGR mostly just was dealt bad luck); and it would have been fine, IMO, if they were acquired by Nostrum. As for Olisol, well, Nostrum was right in saying that Tethys overvalued its assets, and that the assets would deteriorate the longer it took them to get funding. Hopefully, good things work out here. Stock right now is so illiquid that it's hard to even dump them for a tax loss. I really am praying that the Kumars deal still goes through -- 1.5 cents US is a price I can stomach if we can make it there (it's right now .06 cents in US) - but it will take me a while to have enthusiam that we have Wells in our corner. | benandemmiboo
23/11/2016 11:41 | Casual, Taking an optimistic view, based on the latest developments re Matty Sjoberg, I am hoping to hear some news by the weekend.! | hguess16
23/11/2016 11:03 | Anyone been in touch with the company? I hope the week long silence means they are working on something good... | casual47
22/11/2016 21:19 | hguess16, I too am hoping that the new team will try to repair the severe financial damage that has been done over the last three years. Ken and Bill do appear to be decent educated chaps. | temporarily insane
22/11/2016 20:57 | TI, I do understand your frustration at the delay in news from Tethys. But I would like to remind you that the significant falls in the share price took place when poor short term decisions were made by management, some of which were based on " management concerned with its own welfare at the expense of the " poorly treated longtermers". When the results of these poor decisions were published, the share price went into "freefall" as confidence was sucked out of the business!. I am hoping that the new team will try to repair the severe financial damage that has been done over the last three years to the Tethys business. | hguess16
22/11/2016 20:05 | hguess16, unfortunately it was these relatively minor trades that got us to 3p from 55p and has basically kept us at this very low trading range for the past year. Somebody wants Tethys cheap and have been playing the TSX as it is easier to corrupt/manipulate. Looking forward to May and Wells getting paid for actually achieving something that creates shareholder value for the poorly treated longtermers. | temporarily insane |
