16/11/2016 21:37 | Dorset I do hope you are right about these guys and that they are not the asset stripping kind of investors. | 1399peter
16/11/2016 21:35 | For once, I'm actually looking forward to 08.00 tomorrow morning :) | dorset64
16/11/2016 21:33 | Well at last something else to get excited about. Nice to see a bit of positivity on this BB. Its like the olden days!!! ;-) Che7win, time to buy your shares back??????? | temporarily insane
16/11/2016 21:29 | Agree 100% the–isolator, he wouldnt be coming on board with us unless they believe in what they can achieve. This is a totally & utterly different kind of 'investor' than we've had before, and one that actively takes control and manages their investment for the highest returns. My only one doubt is whether they would want to take 100% of the company or a controlling stake. With that in mind I can't see them taking it as a whole, unless the offer was multiples of todays share price as that would ultimately mean PAM would be massively out of pocket, which isn't going to happen any day soon imo. | dorset64
16/11/2016 21:29 | His dad was one of the founders of Plena in 1980: "Plena was founded as a Swedish family investment company in 1980 by three parties: corporate lawyer Lars Sjoborg, a private partner and a Swiss bank." | casual47
16/11/2016 21:27 | casual47 16 Nov '16 - 20:26 - 12376 of 12384 1 0 Perhaps I'm reading too much into this, but this phrase below from yesterday's RNS immediately struck me as somewhat odd and out of place for a sober RNS when I first read it: "Tethys wishes to acknowledge the assistance of the Office of the Almaty City Prosecutor in quickly reviewing the claims and dismissing the case." Somehow it just seems there's more to this.... -------------------- casual agreed. In a jurisdiction with Olisol historical "form", and in which nothing can be taken for granted I read that statement as a thinly veiled assertion that we now also have "influence" in the judicial process. No harm in acknowledging and thanking our friends. | lfdkmp
16/11/2016 21:26 | With my above two posts in mind and if they do take a controlling stake in Tethys, this type of investment is EXACTLY what our company needs. If Bill & Ken have brought these guys in to not only manage but fund the company going forward, then that is clearly music to my ears. And given that Sjoborg has been elected to the BoD's of Tethys, I would say that this is a done deal in every way. Bring it on. Mattias Sjoborg – Senior Advisor, Investments Mattias Sjoborg began his career at RMC plc where he led teams in the restructuring of group operations. He joined Plena Group in 2001, and has led teams through due diligence, negotiation and the restructuring of a large Eastern European privatisation. Mattias has nearly 15 years’ investment experience in origination, due diligence and structuring cross border transactions related to privately held companies and privatisations, in predominantly emerging markets. He has an MBA degree from IMD Lausanne, Switzerland. | dorset64
16/11/2016 21:25 | Well they wouldnt come on board a sinking ship so must be good times ahead, as the beatles sang "have to admit its getting better a little better all the time"(couldnt get much worse) | the_isolator
16/11/2016 21:22 | Our investment principles We come from the school of value investing. We look at finding securities where prices of the assets and operations are not fully reflected in our expectations of the true value of those securities. By rigorously and consistently following the principles below, we continuously create healthy enterprises and generate solid value for investors. Our investment principles include: Controlling stakes in businesses we understand: We generally take majority ownership or another arrangement that enables us to control the investment. It’s important to us that the investment companies operate a business and use a strategy that’s easily understandable. Quality over quantity: When an investment opportunity arises which fulfils our investment criteria, we commit to it. Risk management, in our opinion, comes from knowing what you do, and not from random diversification. Investments should either have a demonstrated earning ability - or be a turnaround candidate where a strong asset base mitigates downside. Local management: While we will support and monitor an investment - a strong, stable, knowledgeable and incentivised local management team is key to the success we deliver. Long-term commitment: We’re not a short-term investor out to make a ‘quick buck’. Our focus is on building enterprises for the long-term, or turning around failing businesses into lasting ventures. Active Ownership: The synergy between operational management and shareholders is fundamental to the success of the business. Our ‘hands on’ approach means we cultivate strong and respectful relationships, so we can better understand and support the business. | dorset64
16/11/2016 21:21 | Plena Group is an established investment management company, specialising in cross border acquisitions with a focus on emerging markets. Why are we successful? Because we invest in businesses we understand; we actively manage our investments; we apply transparent and financially sound policies; and we encourage an entrepreneurial mind-set amongst our investment managers to maximise profitability and growth. We’re a value investor. We don’t invest on future promises but rather on historical performances and strong asset base. Our typical investments range from €500,000 to €20m. Our track record proves that we deliver on our investments. | dorset64

16/11/2016 21:18 | This latest board addition can, in my eyes only be good news and a way forward for the company. | dorset64
16/11/2016 21:15 | Regarding post 12376...........If it gets the company back to earning and producing without people trying to steal the assets then Im up for anything going on in the background. Hopefully with the added comment acknowledging the 'assistance of the Almaty City Prosecutor' the Kaz Government could be saying to other businesses to come and invest in their country as the corrupt days are not to be tolerated. I HOPE SO! | temporarily insane

16/11/2016 21:07 | Appointment GRAND CAYMAN, CAYMAN ISLANDS--(Marketwire Mattias joined Plena Group in 2001 and has led teams through origination, due diligence, negotiation and the restructuring of medium to large emerging market enterprises. In 2011, Mattias bought out Plena Group in a management buy-out and has led its growth by continuing to assemble cross border transactions as well as government privatisations in predominantly emerging markets. Mattias has a BA in Corporate Finance and an MBA degree from IMD Lausanne, Switzerland. About Tethys Tethys is focused on oil and gas exploration and production activities in Central Asia and the Caspian Region. This highly prolific oil and gas area is rapidly developing and Tethys believes that significant potential exists in both exploration and in discovered deposits. | the_isolator

16/11/2016 17:11 | Nobody really knows how high the share price can go, the same as nobody knew we would be at this share price point. | temporarily insane
16/11/2016 16:53 | While I would now only put a small punt in, maybe not even that, had I not already been invested that is, I do think there is opportunity for significant upside here (from the current low). I can't see TPL reaching the double digits again but 3-5p should be achievable if they can get through this. | casual47
16/11/2016 15:43 | Roundup, I agree with your sentiment, I'm also sold the last of them a few weeks ago - and at lower prices to the current sell price. I'm surprised it is this high under the circumstances. This stock has been a disaster, I hope/think I've learned from it. I wish the best for all, but fear this is near death and hope in that respect that no one has everything invested here. | che7win
16/11/2016 15:23 | One would have to believe in miracles to invest in TPL. I have to say my experience over the last number of years was anything but pleasant or miraculous. The Directors stumbled from one catastrophe to another, each time the share price dropped further into the pit. Having said that, just at the point where the company was absolutely on its knees, behold two investors arrive with the promise to raise the company from the ashes. O yes, 30% dilution with a large chunk of the company handed over for a pittance. But then TPL is in no position to bargain. If it comes off, then that will be a miracle and whilst it is too late for me, I wish the rest of you "faithful" all the best. | roundup
16/11/2016 15:03 | "Ideally it would be desirable to combine oil exploration of Tethys with refining and distribution with interested parties in order to maximise Tethys marketing strategy." Hopefully that is what Ken May is busy doing at the moment. Everybody is saying he is good, now lets see how good. | temporarily insane
16/11/2016 14:22 | The options available to Tethys may be focused on their potential tie-up with the new investors provided that an arms length relationship can be worked out on the sale and distribution of Tethys oil and gas to them. Hope we hear about the Soosai/Kumar deal soon !. Ideally it would be desirable to combine oil exploration of Tethys with refining and distribution with interested parties in order to maximise Tethys marketing strategy. | hguess16
16/11/2016 14:13 | ....and its one of those options that we are waiting for news on........on or around the 11th November. | temporarily insane |
