29/10/2006 19:14 | Do you think they can stand alone.Or do they need to merge/acquire other housebuilders.Would USA HOUSEBUILDERS be interested in them when the market picks up. | 8gamsby
27/10/2006 20:07 | A few people eyeing this one up, you mark my words. | orange5
27/10/2006 13:40 | Agree. Operating profit margin on the US housebuilding was 21.5% in the first half. There's a lot of padding, therefore, for incentives to shift stock. UK housebuilding appears to be jogging along fine. TWOD has a very big UK landbank - undervalued assets. Also, as you say, pe ratio is low. Not the best of times with UK interest rate due to rise next month and a difficult US market. However, when inflation is seen to be under control, this interest rate cycle should have peaked at a low level. At that point housebuilders will be back in fashion with the stockmarket. | ed 123
27/10/2006 12:55 | These little dips represent a good buying opportunity. The signs are that the US market is sorting itself out. There is a lot of stock which needs to clear but prices have been reduced which should entice out the buyers. Meanwhile there are fewer starts. There could be some interest rate reductions by next Spring. TWOD is making good profits in the US and here and I see its earnings coming in at around 50p for what has been a tough year. That gives it one of the lowest PEs in the sector and it is not justified. | nutterd
25/10/2006 12:47 | Heading down again despite today's ... UBS reiterates buy and 427p target for Taylor Woodrow. | ed 123
23/10/2006 15:43 | Tipped as a long position in the CFdealer column in Citywire over weekend. | bruce meinhoff
23/10/2006 10:35 | ABN Amro reiterates buy for Taylor Woodrow with a 435p target, cutting estimates. | ed 123
20/10/2006 22:50 | Appears to be company specific - no parallel action in WMPY. Could be something bubbling beneath the surface. If it goes through 380 on high volume next week it will get even more interesting. | ed 123
20/10/2006 20:22 | Over 5million shares bought in the last half hour of trading,All at 376 and above. Interesting. | 8gamsby
19/10/2006 00:29 | TWOD up on US market stabilising. If thats right they should soar | 8gamsby
17/10/2006 22:31 | I've no idea if there's any substance to the latest rumour. However, the market value of the net tangible assets must be well above the stockmarket value of TWOD. If someone thinks they can afford to pay a reasonable premium and still make money, then a bid could come. | ed 123
17/10/2006 20:47 | Every few months someone starts the same old rumours then nothing. What are the motives. Is it just to drive the share price or is something going on. | 8gamsby
16/10/2006 12:09 | Following today's announcement that John Napier sold some shares in the market, the share price has risen. Curious ............. | ed 123
14/10/2006 21:32 | Forgot to welcome back LAF long time no hear i for one miss your comments | 8gamsby
13/10/2006 22:26 | Have any names been mentioned or is it all still just rumours to pump the share price up.Who started the ball rolling this time around. No smoke without fire. | 8gamsby
13/10/2006 18:58 | I'm sure something is happening here behind the scenes. | orange5
13/10/2006 11:52 | It seems half of the All Share Index is a bid target these days. For me, this one has more credance than some of the others. Counting my eggs but ......... a private equity bid could provoke a defensive plan to merge with WMPY and gain FTSE 100 status. Now, that would be nice. | ed 123
13/10/2006 09:32 | From the FT: In the housebuilding sector, there was heavy trading in Taylor Woodrow. Nearly 16m shares changed hands amid talk that the company could be a takeover target for private equity. | lafiamma
12/10/2006 21:59 | Certainly something is happening. News next week without doubt | orange5
12/10/2006 20:06 | Almost 16m shares traded today .Something is going on and i dont think WMPY are involved. We shall see.I would prefer it if WMPY were.FTSE etc. | 8gamsby
12/10/2006 12:18 | Remember MR NAPIER is off in the spring .WMPY HAVE a new man in charge. perfect recipe | 8gamsby
11/10/2006 21:51 | I still think there is something in the wind | orange5
11/10/2006 20:43 | I think the US housing market is on the turn and the market is beginning to sense plenty of earnings growth for 07. Solid asset based companies with forward PEs of 7 are hard to find. | nutterd
11/10/2006 19:42 | heard nothing.I still think TWOD/WMPY WOULD MAKE AN EXCELLENT fit | 8gamsby
10/10/2006 19:23 | Are we looking at another bid rumour? | orange5 |
