I would add that no mention is made of LEBC. The article assumes it is worth what Tav paid for it (8m), but there is every chance that it is/will be less when sold.

After the very upbeat trading update yesterday for the first 5 months , H1 results when announced will be very strong compared to last year.

H1 revenue will be more than £20M , gross profit will be more than £8M and EBITDA likely to be around £1.9M , all are significantly better than H1 2022.

Given the new thread (thanks to Z1CO), it is worthwhile repeating an important extract from the recent detailed IC article dated 20/9 about Tavistock:



"They are massively oversold at the current level, as highlighted by a 14-day RSI relative strength indicator (RSI) reading of 17.9. There is material value on offer.

To put this into perspective, Tavistock's market capitalisation of £29.4mn is completely backed by the £13mn-worth of investments made to date in LEBC and Precise Protect, deferred consideration of £13.5mn due from the sale of Titan Wealth, and pro-forma net cash of £3mn. It leaves the advisory business in the price for free, even though it's grwoing its profit contribution and, to a trade buyer, could easily be worth as much as or even more than Tavistock's market capitalisation. Value buy."



If you add in yesterday's "SIGNIFICANTLY AHEAD" Trading Update, the proposition looks even more compelling.

An excellent trading update from the company:

1) For the five months to 31 August 2023 gross revenues have increased by 19% to GBP17.2 million (prior year equivalent period: GBP14.5 million.

2) Gross margin has increased by 40% to GBP6.7 million (prior year equivalent period: GBP4.8 million).

3) EBITDA has risen 13 fold to GBP1.6 million.

Tavistock’s share price has had a roller-coaster ride since I included the shares, at 4p, in my 2022 Bargain Shares Portfolio, more than doubling at one stage before succumbing to profit-taking. They are massively oversold at the current level, as highlighted by a 14-day relative strength indicator (RSI) reading of 17.9. There is material value on offer.

To put this into perspective, Tavistock's market capitalisation of £29.4mn is completely backed by the £13mn-worth of investments made to date in LEBC and Precise Protect, deferred consideration of £13.3mn due from Titan Wealth, and pro-forma net cash of £3mn. It leaves the advisory business in the price for free, even though it’s growing its profit contribution and, to a trade buyer, could easily be worth as much or even more than Tavistock’s market capitalisation. Value buy.

Z1CO point me in the direction where my original post was negative about the trading update?

QP said it was excellent and my first response was ‘Indeed’ because it was. BUT I like many others have been here many times before and not seen a significant increase in the share price. You may be wetting yourself that it’s up 10% today but that still 50% down from just 1 year ago and 30% down on the initial offering almost 10 years ago.

Please feel free to take QP to a private room as his incessant copy and paste tactics, see his history, will have you back in here with us trolls before you know it.

Look at my history as I have also called out the overly negative on here, Russman for example who is at the opposite end of the scale to QP.

I do like QP’s posts, he is funny, but he won’t answer questions or give detailed answers to his thoughts or dare I say inside knowledge but simply regurgitates the same thoughts without substance.

Enjoy your room together and feel free to pop in now and again to catch up with other viewpoints.

if you want to start a new TAVI thread , I'd be happy to follow and there would be several other genuine posters who, I am sure, would also follow - having tired of the trolling here.

We could then ban them and if they re-appear under new false usernames, ban them too.


To answer your question..... There are likely two sets of trolls in my opinion.

1. A group of disgruntled former sacked employees who have a personal grudge and axe to grind against the current excellent management.

2. A couple of years back, there was an enormous amount of trolling and discrediting which had the affect of driving the price down immediately prior to the opportunistic failed approach. You can readily draw your own conclusions.

What you're saying is 100% correct , there are trolls on almost all of these advfn forums as soon you post in a bullish way they start to make sly comments.

That's why i normally create my own thread and i ban most that don't have much to contribute and try to clog the thread.

An interesting question is what makes them so called trolls in the first place.

When ever a new poster starts to post on these advfn forums you always on or two idiots that make sly comments.

No one is jumping in QP's bed , just posting facts about today's trading update.

It seems to me these facts are making you rather nervy.

Share price finished UP 10.53% even though there were quite a few that sold.You always get traders that sell on the news good or bad.

This company has all the ingredients to grow considerably over next few years and YES the shares will start to rerate significantly from the current levels to reflect this growth.

Let’s see what happens to share price or will it slowly drift away again like previous following other positive news.

It’s ok seeing good lean meat but when the lions surrounding it keep biting you or even taking your own meat, it becomes less attractive.

As well as the revenue gross profit has also increased significantly for the first 5 months and will most likely be at around £8 million for H1.

H1 revenue will be apprx £20 million.

H1 results will be very impressive with revenue , gross profit and EBITDA all substantially ahead of last year.

You are right.

Generally speaking, the small-cap sector has overall been severely under the cosh in the past few months - and small-cap share prices have collectively suffered. With many getting caught in the general downdraft irrespective of their individual strengths.

Amongst those, there are some absolute bargains. And some which are significantly and heavily oversold - which was a strong comment made in the recent IC article about Tavistock.


Best time to buy.


And with today's Trading Update containing the magic words of "SIGNIFICANTLY AHEAD",
this share is in real bargain territory with outstanding growth prospects.

Today's declaration of the promised INTERIM dividend combined with an extremely buoyant outlook attest to these prospects.

Today's update for the first 5 months of the current year is exceptionally good and if the growth continues at this rate for the remainder of the year , shareholders will be duly rewarded.

That EBITDA increase of 13 fold , very impressive.
