niggle,

Sorry I didn't mention this on my other thread as soon as the weekends statements came out about bikes I thought of both Halfords and Tandem and was tempted to post on MARKS thread but got sidelined.

There is some negativity management aren't that focused on shareholders and I would t say they are the most focused company. Wide spread and can be volatile like most stocks.

Tiger has been an investor in the company for a long time.

Tiger

Sector was tipped or mentioned by Bloomberg, market makers were prepared for rise on PM's press conference over the weekend and encouraging more people to bike, walk or scooter to work. It is a reversal of the last years strategy to get the public out of cars and on public transport.

However its OK in theory but there will also be congestion on the roads and more bike accidents.

The roads not geared up for mass cycling and scooters. If a bus used to carry over 50 passengers think of the space on the road will need as a bike needs 6 ft space to overtake. Its going to cause a nightmare for both public transport, cars and bikes and there will be many accidents and deaths.

Another downside : all the idiots who think they can enter the bike market will be joining the feeding frenzy and selling on price. Barriers to entry are virtually non existent.

Just for clarification as I can see posts referring to bikes from China : there is 64% Import Duty including a 48% Dumping Duty from China into EU which will remain until after Brexit completed. Can't buy in China as this makes these products uncompetitive.

Yes it's very much in a sweet spot. We would expect difficulties in the short run but this is a longterm Government strategy and the full benefit to Tandem should come through later on and particularly into next year. This is a longterm investment.

Way I see it they will have sold through there stock and no doubt some staff will have been furloughed for a while and with stock and pent up demand to come should see it in good stead.

45% shareprice rise does somewhat warrant a market update imo. We can all see all the adult and teenage stuff of Tandems is no longer available in Halfords etc as sold out so a market update with some guidance is clearly required

Speculation on the stock position is all very well but I'd like to see TND issue an update on how Covid is affecting the business and what they are doing about it?

Everyones in the same boat here. If you're a big wholesaler like Tandem, you don't need a masters in business to secure a whacking emergency order on good margin with say Halfords and hire a plane. It's does make sense when you're air freight consists of a million pounds worth of bikes.
