Cat,
It is exciting when you consider the report published by the DOH identified shortfalls in the operating practices and equipment in 109 out of 249 NHS hospitals in the UK. The goverment has to turn to the private sector to resolve this very serious issue. With only 11 sterile service departments nationwide in the private sector - the prize is there for the taking and SYR are in poll position.

The DoH is committed to outsourcing almost all of sterile services. The contracts are huge.

Cat - I read somewhere that on the back of last years' damning report on infection in the NHS the contracts for sterile services are due for review/renewal in September. With this in mind I'd guess we will see interest in these gathering momentum. Let's hope so anyway :-)

AIM's Synergy Healthcare rose 12p to 257p on talk that it is poised to announce the £12m purchase of Hays Clinical Services, together with a successful placing of new shares to fund the deal, The Times reported. The hospital laundry group, floated at 128p last year, already has a sterile services business, but the addition of HCS could bring an order book of £50m.
