This appeared to be a bit of a leaky ship ahead of the farm out expression of interest news, but I guess that we will only know with hindsight what kind of pump we were dealing with this week. The good news is that, whatever has been going on this week, the jet pump is just around the corner.

...and when the share price reaches a line of resistance the spread widens to reflect the uncertainty on which way the share price is going.

People who have a quick look at the chart can see the downward sloping resistance line which runs through the closing prices of the 2 localised intra day peaks

This resistance gives people time to load up if they believe the share price will go higher, and also an exit point for the short term traders who believe the price will go down in the short or long term.

If the line of resistance is breached then confirmation is when the volume goes higher.

My view is that the line of resistance will be breached with decent news on Cambay, which seems likely to occur based in what we know.

The other thing is that the share price will anticipate the expected good news, so for example the lift from the good news on the jet pump installation and subsequent performance might be less than expected if it is completed in reasonable timeframes and performs reasonably. If however our dreams come true and we get 0.75mmsfcd or whatever from 77H ie inc the artifical lift that would in my eyes be enough to get through a decent amount of resistance / selling pressure, ditto a firm on and accepted offer by the BOD for a 2 well carry JV.

12 May '23 - 11:28 - 508 of 508 - to have a better chance of achieving their objective of filling a buy order.

If one or more MMs raise the bid it will:

Alert other market makers / dealers they may have a buy order so other MM's may come off the offer, go on the bid, raise the biod again, contact the MM etc

...and it may reduce sell orders as holders see the increase in the share price and hold off selling as they anticipate further increases

Rather than increase the bid on the RSP (ie electronic interface which allows dealers to execute buys and sells in a wide range of prices and sizes), if the MM went on the bid as the only MM there, dealers who have decent sized sell orders should not phone them on the STX to achieve best execution - thus the MM doesn't get the shares they want. For example if a dealer contacts the MM on the bid, states what he would like to do, the dealer may find out that the MM will not take the order and the MM comes off the bid. Remember the MM on the bid is only obligated to deak in the published NMS/EMS ie a small number of shares specific for that stock - so on L2 people can see that info and also see the list of MMS and what they are up in - eg 500 x 500. If that MM comes off the bid the bid price falls, and the dealer's sell order is 'ruined' or weakened at best - so if the client order was limited to the bid before the MM came off the bid then the dealer would have to go back to the client and a savy client may well work out what happened and make a complaint.

So in other words it may not make sense for the MM to be on the bid if he wants shares.

Hope this makes sense.

Nice price action but low volume - not convinced that this is takeoff. Take delivery of the jet pump and then we’ll see.

cool hand kev - "MMs want your stock." Classic. There is no point even trying to build a ramp until you have something to work with. The jet pump is coming - have a little patience.
