15/9/2000 09:23 | Trouble with this ramping ........ it becomes addictive ;-)) This is from the Times K Speculators still hope for Synstar bid SMALL-CAP speculators continued to ignore last week's downbeat trading statement from Synstar and piled into the IT services group on hopes that it has attracted a bid. The company went as far as denying that it had received an approach last Wednesday, but that failed to wash with hardened punters, who repeated the now-familiar tale of an offer at 108p and sent the shares 8p stronger to 82½p. | kdc
14/9/2000 18:18 | I am glad to see Synstar doing something constructive but I fail to grasp why an IT company should want to link up with a French chain of road-side restaurants, but then it would make sense if Les Reutier want to expand into the U.K. | charlies cars
12/9/2000 08:15 | Despite last weeks denials of bid talks - Suzie in the City has this to add A BROKER tells me to watch Synstar, the computer services group. Shares, which were up 8p (or 12 per cent) yesterday to 75p, are thought to be the subject of a bid at 103p a share in cash. I have a few and hearing that good news is on it's way but maybe contracts rather than a bid ......... either way the shares are recovering from the mark down - after last weeks denials. Currently 72/75p - not recommending anyone rushes in but maybe one to watch. Good recovery play if no M+A K | kdc
