Synectics plc (AIM: SNX), a leader in the design, integration, control and management of advanced surveillance technology and networked security systems, announces that Simon Beswick has resigned as Finance Director of the Company with effect from 19 April 2019. Mr Beswick joined Synectics in September 2018, and is leaving to take up an appointment as part of the senior management team of a substantial venture capital backed European company in the satellite launch industry.
Synectics has initiated a search process to find Mr Beswick's replacement. In the meantime the Company has appointed Amanda Larnder to take over as Acting Finance Director from 19 April 2019. Ms Larnder joined Synectics in 2012, after senior management roles specialising in listed companies within Ernst & Young and Deloitte; she has been Synectics' Financial Controller since 2015. Amanda qualified as a Chartered Accountant with Ernst & Young in 2006.
David Coghlan, Chairman of Synectics, commented: "I am very sorry that, after such a brief time with Synectics, Simon has been recruited to a unique opportunity that, despite regrets at leaving us so soon, he feels he cannot turn down. He has already made a positive impact on Synectics and his departure is a disappointment. We are nevertheless fortunate to have Amanda as a well-qualified and very able stand-in while we complete the search for a permanent replacement."
