Yes 3% but we do not know if they already have a small holding- I have had these shares a long time and would be happy with an exit at some point.

I thought we would have heard by now. Technically they have until tomorrow/ weds to let us know (2 working days for the purchaser and then up to 3 for the co). If it isn't Whitehall, then someone bought around 3%.

Oh yes - I missed that. I would be very surprised if it isn't Whitehall based on the previous trades. Having looked back, they are sometimes a few days late in reporting so we should get a holdings RNS this week.

if those big trades today are Whitehall, that takes them over 30% and would mean they have to make an offer to the other shareholders at the highest price paid in the past 12 months...

You seem to be forgeting Covid-19, in the company's business update it said :-

"As announced on 23 March 2020, and given the continued uncertainty in global markets, financial guidance on the Company's expected trading performance for the financial year ending 30 November 2020 has been and remains suspended."

See link:-

Thus the projections shown in your link are pre-Covid-19 and are no longer valid.

Not that different in recent years with the oil/gas plunge behind them.

Whitehall are now up to nearly 30 pct. Will they put in a bid for the whole thing I wonder?

Yes excellent news and patently undervalued. I've been surprised at the rel' muted reaction.

Patience required to get closer to £2.

Thats often the best way... I've been invested in SNG for years and now look whats happened.
I've always liked this company and still believe its a takeover target at some point. £19m market cap even in these times isn't at all expensive.

Well I don't expect things to be great for them for a while but I hope with quite a substantial pile of cash they are well placed to weather the storm and hopefully return to making operating profits of £5m a year in a couple of years time.

I don't know about Whitehall. I've not heard of them before and you're never going to find out much about them being as they are based in Panama. They could just be an investor or maybe they are more like private equity and will bid for the whole lot.

Are Whitehall just an investor? Are they likely to buy a whole company? Problem for Synectics are a few fold including oil industry decline, bus security loss of contract and general lack of customers investing. Casinos have been their saviour up to now. This is all my opinion. I have held these for many years and hope I am completely wrong.

I bought a few more of these the other day. I think in normal times they are worth at least £2 a share and with a strong balance sheet they should be able to survive until things recover.

There is also the possibility of a bid from Whitehall.
