One interesting thing in the annual report is that the chairman reads various online debates probably including this one and comments on what shareholders say in his letter to shareholders. The board are allowed to read such boards, but are not allowed to post.

I have this as the basket
Platinum 0.61
Rhodium 0.125
Palladium 0.255
Rest (maybe gold) 0.01

(by mass).

Taking income at H2021 as 63% Rhodium viz 53.676
and making a stab at the price being USD20K

I then recalculate the half year profit at different Rhodium prices and double it.

It can only give a rough estimate.

Interesting, can you provide more data on what is behind the numbers, and are these annual or quarterly numbers?

Yes its disappointing with the pullback in RH, but of course the sharp rise has provided a huge boost to the bottom line. Of course this is where the risk lies when investing in commodities whether that be oil, gold, diamonds, PGMs etc. Huge rewards potentially and for those that got in on the early pennies SLP has been just that.Fundamentals remain great here and whats to say RH wont steady and go back up, but of course if it stays around here, thats still great. We have to commend the BOD, there was a lot of chatter and disappointment as the cash pile rose, investors were demanding a higher divi/special etc, but the BOD have been very stringent and rightly so in a space where peaks and troughs can be severe.I'd like to think that the BOD would diversify given time and use the funds to help growth and/or hedge against a downturn in PGMs.

I have these rough guess forecast profit figures for various Rhodium prices
15K - USD 88m
10K - USD 60m
5K - USD 35m
3K - USD 18m

I don't think 3K is likely at all.
I would hazard a guess it will end up between 5 and 10, but I don't know that much about it.

Bit disappointed in the spike down in the Rh price in recent days however it has done it before. My thinking was that we had stability at $19K JMM prices, we are currently $17k, bit of a bummer really.

'The last buy back was when the shares were 80% higher'

The buyback was for a specific legacy purpose for those shareholders who were unable to sell their shares. If you are one of those special cases then you can write to the company and they will buyback your shares.

With Sylvania holding circa £100M in cash and with the recent collapse of the share price, all investors should write to The Chief Executive Jaco Prinsloo asking for a share buy back of at least £20M to be effected immediately. The last buy back was when the shares were 80% higher.
A big buy back at the present price would offer great value to share holders and boost the share price....Investors get writing..I have. Can Sylvania better use it's cash pile at present, than by buying it's shares at these low levels !?

Well the market prices all well up today, Platinum 2%+, Palladium 4%, Rhodium nearly 5% and interestingly the share price of THS is up nearly 2% today. This downtrend could turn very quickly.

deme1 .. try this ... since then the company have paid a special dividend and got a shed load more of cash ... its called added value . I'm out at the moment due to other commitments but this is a solid proposition at these prices .

I think Liberium have been a bit OTT on Rhodium saying it might go to 100K. However, I have nibbled a bit on the basis that I expect them to be profitable, but not at the current rate and to have a lot of cash.

Correct me if I am wrong, as I have not down a great deal of research in SLP

but the last time Plat, Pal and Rhodium were around this price was Dec 2020 when the share price was around 75p

hence my 76p target may well be hit

and that is not factoring any further weakness in the metals.

I may have to revise down to 65p

My metals play is currently with JLP
yet I must admit SLP is tempting at these levels, yet if the USA and China continue their games then this could just hit my order

I tend to do the same by placing buy limit orders at a price where the support is, sometimes you miss the bounce because of the bid/offer price spread by literally 1/2 pence. You get a lot of people buying at those levels doing the same as you by leaving limit orders, mine are usually set to last 3 months so I quite frequently forget I've got them running when I see an email to say I've bought a sh1t load of shares lol

SLP will probably bounce once it hits 80p

I have £17k awaiting and have placed a cheeky buy order for 76p, doubt I will get it yet im in no rush
