Posted at 19/11/2008 12:14 by washbrook I have for over 40 years been an Investor in Investment Trusts. For the next year we are going to get low inflation. But come 2 years onwards I can see very high inflation round the corner. I am 72 years of age and I now have to be careful with my capital. I only have two investments at the moment. City of London Investment Trust which I have reduced in the last couple of weeks getting out at higher prices than current. I have increased my holding of Blackrock Commodities which has a good income and should benefit in a 1 to 2 year time frame. I am tempted to buy 2.5% Consols which are yielding 4.74% to cap on falling interest rates. The Investment Trusts I have seived out are:- Aberdeen Asia Income,Aberdeen New Dawn, ALLIANCE on a good discount,British Empire,LawDebentures I have invested in this stock in the past when it was called Undervalued Assets and well run by Colin McLean. They always keep you up to date with the latest information they are currently have 29.4% in cash and are short on a few stocks. At last nights close was on a discount of 15.89% |
